Much
of my career has involved sales, sales management, and the creation
and development of direct marketing programs. I have conducted
many successful advertising and marketing campaigns for a diverse
range of products and services. All have provided me with valuable
experience in business and public relations.
In
1986, I was owner and operator of a company by the name of National
Brands, Products and Services. As a small company, specializing
in advertising, marketing and publishing, pre-press for promotional
materials and publication was costing several thousands of dollars
a month.
Determined
to reduce these costs, I made the decision to purchase a personal
computer and do most of the pre-press work myself. It was a good
decision. Not only did I save my company thousands of dollars
in monthly expense but I also discovered a new career field involving
challenge, creativity and excitement… the field of computer graphics
and design.
I
continued with National Brands, Products and Services until 1995.
I came to realize that, though I was successful in my business,
I was not happy. I was not doing what I enjoyed doing the most…
being creative and expressing my creativity through visual art
utilizing electronic media.
With
over ten years hands-on experience in design and publishing, I
recognized that in order for me to develop a successful career
in what I really loved doing, I would need to re-tool for the
future. So, I sold my business and after taking a long needed
vacation, I set off to school where I earned an A.A.S. Degree
in Graphic Technology, and a B.A. Multidisciplinary Degree in
English, Fine Art, Communication, and Media Technology.
