About Actifence

ActiFence is an SCIO. Our main aims include promoting the public participation of sport and trying to encourage social integration through sport.

Actifence Description

Our story is simple; we want all children, from all walks of life to have the opportunity to partake in sport. We run affordable sessions and have chosen to start with the sport of fencing for a few reasons:

1. It's where our expertise lies
2. It's a little different
3. Boys and Girls train together
4. Able-bodied and disabled fencers can also train together
5. Fencing isn't 'elite' as many people think but it does have open-minded, welcoming people from all walks of life - you'll be surprised.

ActiFence is about learning new skills in a fun and friendly environment. The more your kids enjoy something the more likely they are to keep it up!

Our Mission statement is

- To encourage children to be active through the sport of fencing.
- To promote social inclusion.
- To promote girls in sport.
- To encourage volunteering.
- To promote mental wellbeing through sport.

We've opened our doors in Laurencekirk on a weekly basis so that children but also work in other areas.

If you would like fencing to be offered at your school or local community group please get in touch. We can run short courses or taster sessions.
We understand the need for children to have further opportunities to develop if they enjoy themselves so we will always give you information about your nearest club.
