Oh yes ... and Neil’s 365 days of Balmedie Beach is well worth a look.

Seal alert : there are a number of seals swimming close to shore at Balmedie close to the main boardwalk access to the beach.
You are advised to keep dogs who are at all likely to go into the water well away and on leads. This is bitter experience from me this afternoon : Ollie went in, was mobbed and didn’t get back to shore for well over 30 minutes.
Be aware also that seals may haul out onto the beach : check and if you see anything that might be a hauled out seal, keep well away.

If you need it, there is a defib on the wall of the Sand Bothy.
If someone collapses and isn’t breathing
Call 999.... Start CPR. Send someone for the defib. Keep gong with the CPR

Stupidly struggling to reply to an inquiry asking where the beach wheelchairs are. Sorry.

Please, we love the beach and the dunes. But disposable BBQs are a real hazard. Only use on bare Sand and be aware that you will need to wait until they have properly cooled down (a few hours!) in order for you to be able to remove them safely. Bring the oven glove!
