Why a pre-holiday sunbed session is never a good idea. However infrequently you use sunbeds, every session increases your risk of skin cancer by more than you might think.
Our Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Andrew G Affleck, explains just what makes them so harmful to our skin. >> https://www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/…/healt …/pre-holiday-sunbeds

With the Cricket World Cup well under way let’s look at the 8 most common acute cricket injuries. >> https://www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/…/m…/ common-cricket-injuries
Whether you bat, bowl or field, there’s a risk of getting injured – either due to overloading or from impact injuries. Injuries usually occur either at the start of the cricket season (when workloads suddenly increase) or at the end (from the increasing effect of the season).

This week is Glaucoma Awareness Week!
What is glaucoma? Glaucoma is a term that describes a group of eye conditions that affect vision. The main nerve in the eye (the optic nerve) becomes damaged usually as a result of increased pressure in the eye. This can lead to misty and patchy vision which worsens if left untreated.
There are an estimated 600,000 people with glaucoma in the UK today. Our Consultant Eye Surgeon and Glaucoma Specialist, Mr Sudipto Bhatta, is calling o...n glaucoma patients to use their eye drops regularly, and wants to encourage the community at large to have their eyes regularly checked at their opticians’ to help detect signs of glaucoma at an early stage.
