BONDING WITH BABY - Come relax and have fun with your little one! Choice of two 6 week baby-led programmes to spend quality time with your baby - INFANT MASSAGE or RHYTHM KIDS. Small Group Courses (up to 12 parents & babies per class) running in and around Aberdeen or Private Courses are available within your home.
ABOUT ‘BONDING WITH BABY’:
My name is Laura Henderson and I run ‘BONDING WITH BABY’. I am a fully qualified Nursery Nurse and have over 15 years experience supporting families. Although I have worked with children of all ages, babies amaze me so I became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) in 2007 and a Rhythm Kids Teacher in 2008, running courses from my previous workplace.
I initially set up ‘Bonding With Baby’ on a part-time basis in 2011 and, due to its success, I have been running it full-time since August 2013. My ‘Bonding With Baby’ courses are baby-led and are designed to be relaxing for parents to attend, therefore if your baby has any needs during class, such as feeding; changing; soothing, I ask that you respond to their needs how you would at home.
‘BONDING WITH BABY’ COURSES:
I offer parents the opportunity to attend one or both of my 6 week courses with their baby – INFANT MASSAGE and RHYTHM KIDS. These courses are designed to be attended once so that you can ‘Come relax and have fun with your little one’ and learn skills and ideas to develop at home with your infant. Both courses start with a 15 minute arrive and settle-in period and end with 20-30 minutes for discussions, refreshments and social interactions between parents and babies. Payment for courses (£70 per course) should be made in full, at the first session attended, and you will need to take along a blanket / towel to place over the mat – all other materials are provided.
INFANT MASSAGE (suitable for babies 6 weeks old to pre-crawling stage):
This 6 week course promotes bonding and attachment between parent and baby and can also help with minor baby ailments, such as colic; trapped wind; constipation; teething and colds. Designed by the IAIM, this course is specifically designed for infants using Indian Massage; Swedish Massage; Yoga and Reflexology principles and involves parents lovingly stroking your baby, taking time to communicate verbally and non-verbally with them so that they feel loved, valued and respected. The massage strokes are built up over the 6 week course, at a pace that is right for your baby, and allowing time for parents to become confident in them so that massage becomes a life-long skill taking place between parent and child. RHYTHM KIDS (suitable from 3 months old to pre-walking stage):
This 6 week course is a baby exercise programme which promotes baby’s love of movement whilst developing pre-verbal language. Designed by Touchlearn International Ltd, this course is an ideal follow-on course from Infant Massage for the growing baby, although can be attended without having completed an IM course previously. Throughout the Rhythm Kids programme, parents will help baby to explore different types of movement, using exercises which help to train the senses to work together to develop your baby’s posture, balance and coordination, thus enhancing skills for sitting, crawling and walking. By singing nursery rhymes, whilst doing the exercises, we enhance memory and language skills which help babies to develop sounds and gestures of a pre-verbal language on which more formal speech will be built. Weekly Exploratory Play, using scarves; puppets and instruments, takes place at the beginning and the end of the programme. Exploring baby development and how it can be promoted at different stages, weekly sessions are enhanced with parent handouts which provide further ideas of play for infants and local parenting resources.
PRICE: £70 per group course. Payment must be made in full on the first week of attending including any discount vouchers / gift vouchers to be used.

PRIVATE COURSES AT HOME:
If you feel that a group course may not suitable for yourself and your little one or you may wish to attend a Private Course with your friends and their babies, please get in touch, as arrangements can sometimes be made to have the course take place within the family home. Prices for this will be provided on arrangement and are dependent on travel costs / numbers attending.

We started baby massage when my little girl was 8 weeks old. We both loved the it even if she did like to sleep through a lot of it! Laura is a brilliant teacher and is very knowledgable about all things baby. Would definitely recommend the class to anyone looking to learn baby massage or just do something fun/social with their little one xx
We loved the baby massage course! Laura is great and so knowledgable. The course is a nice relaxed pace and there is lots of extra information provided too. My baby girl now loves a massage and the colic massage really helped her wind. It’s a great way to make friends as well. Highly recommend �
We have just finished Laura's massage class and we are going to miss it. Laura is fantastic at her job makes you feel relaxed and welcome it's like catching up with a friend, goes at you and your babies pace also if you need to feed or your baby doesn't feel like it you can still watch and learn xxx
We attended the rhythm kids class and have enjoyed going rather sad it's finished now as you feel so relaxed when there.. my daughter would cry at some of the songs and it didn't bother Laura at all she just continued to deliver the class loud and clearly which was great as I didn't feel awkward or like I should leave :) was fab seeing all the babies grow and learn to explore the different variety of resources on offer :) highly recommend this course :) love that you put daddy's name of the certificate too lovely touch :)
Very well run class, Laura is brilliant. We did 2 blocks as my wee boy really enjoyed it. Gutted to be finished.
My daughter and I attended both Baby massage and Rhythm kids courses. We really enjoyed our sessions, Laura's tuition and professional yet friendly advice. We use the techniques daily and they are great activities to stimulate development whist having fun. Reasonably priced too!
Me and my little girl thoroughly enjoyed both massage and rythmn group, we used what we have learnt on a daily basis and have managed to make friends out of it too! Laura is an excellent instructor too, we will miss our monday classes
I attended Baby Massage and Rhythm Kids with my son in 2015. We loved it so much, I jumped at the chance to do it again with my second this year (2018). Laura knows how to put you and the babies at ease and uses her years of experience to give you skills that you can keep using at home. I would absolutely recommend Laura’s courses. If you have a group of mum friends you would love doing the private course together.
