What a jewel of a place to stay. Don’t let the facade fool you, the inside is modern & the food is 5 star. Thoroughly enjoyed my meals there.

We were there for our Christmas works night out, fantastic meal, I'm a fussy eater and the chef went out his way to make sure I had a nice meal that I would like, the waiting and bar staff where fantastic, service was excellent, we all felt like we had been treated and had a proper night out, we have booked again for next year,5*

We had our whole wedding here on the 30th july 2016 and it was really good. We cannot thank Jason & Tony enough for there guidance throughout the planning stages and making sure our big day was one not to forgot. The meal was excellent. The staff should be really proud of themselves.

We are in the fine dining, not the bar. The service was outstanding; polite, helpful and still smiled and presented a warm/chatty front. The food was fantastic too. Whilst I would consider the price quite good value!

This was a visit for a wedding at the lighthouse and a nostalgia trip. My father was stationed here from 1958 to 1963! The RAF camp has changed just a tad. The hotel was very good value and remarkable for such a remote location.

Service and meal first class from start to finish. And you get a good cuppa tea �

Second year in a row of attending the Hogmanay Dinner Package. Fantastic night, food was delicious, staff excellent, band was great and the hotel room nice and warm. Cooked breakfast is cooked to your specification in a relaxing atmosphere in the dining room. The whole event is amazing would recommend this package without hesitation, well done Buchan Braes.

I’ve stayed there twice and always had good service and good meals and friendly staff will definitely stay there again.

Had dinner here with friends for 2nd time a year apart. Service on both occasions exceptional and the food was really good. Great choice of menu, great food beautifully presented. Highly recommend

From our first meeting with Tony & Maureen over a year ago, to finalising the final details with Jason they were so accommodating to help us get everything right for our day.

On the day Jason and David’s help and kind words helped us a lot and made everything at ease, everything flowed beautifully and the hall was stunning.

The meal was brilliant with guests also commenting on how good the meal and service was.



The whole Buchan Braes team genuinely made our day for us!

Fantastic Christmas Night! 2nd year at the Buchan Braes for our Christmas Party and we have already booked again for next year. The meal was perfect, compliments to the chef, the waiting staff were so hard working and did an excellent job including the young girls who waited on our table. Not one complaint to make they went out their way to ensure we had a great night and we did.

Exceptional! Special Thank you to Leanne firstly, from first meeting everything planned perfectly. Jason for all your help and guidance for the day. David... superstar! You made everything just flow and the Hall was beautiful (even the trees �) Chloe and the other young lady who worked along side you. You genuinely made our Wedding day a dream. Meal was exceptional. Celebrated our wedding reception here last October and had the best day ever. Staff were fantastic and meal was absolutely delicious. Had many other celebrations & family get togethers here over the years and have never been let down.

Came here yesterday for my mums birthday meal. It was fab! Couldn’t fault it and excellent service too! 😊

Been twice now for family celebrations and can’t fault staff at all. Excellent service from start to finish. I’ve heaps of allergies so eating out is always a stressful outing for me but phoned on both occasions to speak with chef and both times we arranged a mini menu to cater for me. Thank you so much for helping out and for the gorgeous food, we all thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful x

A Big thank you Maureen and her staff at the Buchan Braes hotel Boddam for a fantastic meal on the launch of the “Doonie Braes” Everything was just perfect from the run up to the function and on the actual day. Was at the Tribute evening last night my only complaint would be that there wasn't enough staff on for the event a lot of waiting at the bar

The good and music were excellent! The only downside was the bar service was a bit slow. The function hall could have been decorated more Christmassy, the only decor I noticed was a wreath on the wall, not even a xmas tree in the function hall☹️.
