Was in last night for my sisters birthday. Food was amazing as always when there last night only thing was wrong soup & cheesecake taken to table but were still enjoyed. They brought child meal at starter meaning everyone could enjoy mains this was done without asking just common sense by the waitress which was so appreciated!

This is the first time my wife an I have visited Buchan Hotel for a meal and we will definitely be returning. The quality and presentation of the food was very good and the staff very friendly and attentive, without being too obtrusive. The restaurant was busy, which is perhaps an indication of its popularity, but this did not detract from the level of service. The food prices were reasonable for the portion sizes.

Most times we are going out to eat we decide on the Buchan. From daytime / earlier dining with our baby to evening adult get togethers the Buchan shines. The staff are incredibly attentive and the food is gorgeous! They cater well for any intolerances and have everything from juice to cocktails available. We have eaten here twice in the past week and still struggled to decide what to eat as there's so much choice! Highly recommend �

I would just like to thank the staff for a lovely service last night ..... We had a wonderful meal it was a perfect treat x thanks to the chef and kitchen staff !!! Well done

I was there with a large group (about 26 of us) and could not have faulted anything about the experience. We pre-ordered, and everything went really smoothly, the food was all served promptly and was still hot and cooked fresh. The waiting staff were really attentive and polite and we were never left waiting for drinks etc. I had the hot chicken fajitas and would say theu were one of the best I've had. Very reasonable prices as well for the size of portion served. It's not easy serving tables as big as ours but they done great!

Had yet another fabulous meal today. Always welcoming and very efficient. Good food. High tea is excellent , and the cakes you get with your tea/coffee are made on the premises, not shop bought. Absolutely lovely. Thoroughly recommend.

Had a lovely meal at The Buchan Hotel tonight. I won the Facebook competition for a meal for 2 at the Chinese buffet night and it was absolutely delicious. The food was amazing, the staff were really nice, and special thanks to Manager Neil who made sure we were looked after very well. Will be back for sure! Thanks again ���

Had a lovely high tea at Buchan Hotel yesterday. Food was really good the three of us cleaned our plates. Staff were friendly and courteous. Scones and cakes were delicious and couldn't manage to eat everything. Definitely would recommend it. Well satisfied.

Fantastic meal last night with the Ellon meadows girls football team awards night a very big thank you to all the staff and mr and mrs Beedie for making us all very welcome and managing to serve everyone (85 ish) with hot food at the same time

Family meal table for relatives visiting from Australia, A mix of 12 adults and children, all meals looked and tasted delicious, I had the vegetable Risotto was so tasty and such a change from the usual vegetarian options. this hotels restaurant has been a regular go to for family gatherings and has never failed us. Thank you especial to the chefs on last night for great tasting food.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve meal at this hotel - so tasty! Just the right amount of space between tables and between courses. Friendly staff. Accommodating of children. Nice ambience. Would recommend and would eat here again!

Was attending Gig at th Brig Hogmanay Celebrations & we booked a table for tea. Food was beautiful & nice wine list too. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal & the Hogmanay celebrations were Ace! Good night was had by All😋

Exceptionally friendly family hotel, traditional Scottish high tea with excellent service. from the telephone booking to the completion of the meal was a heartwarming experience.

Went for a meal on Sunday with my parents and fiancé. Couldn't complain about the starters or puddings however both my and my father had the mixed grill and when presented with it, the waitress didn't appreciate me telling her that the rasher of bacon was actually bigger than the piece of steak served with it. She did go away and come back with an extra bit of steak for each of us but neither bit of steak was cooked to our satisfaction as it was clearly off cuts and tail ends of meat.

Nice meal but let down by the main course unfortunately.

Will give it a second chance in the future and see if any improvements have been made.

Went here with my family to celebrate my mum and dads Silver Anniversary, unfortunately the service was appalling, which was a pity because the food is delicious, could not fault the food at all but took over 2 hours for 3 courses and 4 out of 6 of us had the carvery. I understand it was busy but it wasn’t full. My mum did make her feelings clear on leaving. Such a pity.

We have been going to the hotel for years now and we stopped off for supper on Thursday it was the worst meal we have ever had, my husband got the waitress as he ordered scamper and chips the chips were oven chips and had been cooked more than once they were all powdery inside, she came back and said he could have boiled potatoes or roast potatoes (with scampi) the scampi was cold by the time they came back as they never took it away to keep warm, and the so called salad was brown and very limp there was only 8 people in the whole dining room and when we asked why it was oven chips she said they r doing everything in the oven now as the healthier eating option but yet my onion rings were fried !!!! The manager was rude when we asked to speak to him and more or less said we don't have to eat there and the meal cost us £40 won't be going back there again ���
