Caravanserai Description

Caravanserai: Our independent fundraising project, inspired by the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Yorkhill Childrens Hospital, which saved our sons life on 10th December 2012.

Caravanserai began as a weekly rest stop, featuring hot drinks and refreshments served in the unique setting of a pop-up Rapido caravan, based in Lumphanan, Royal Deeside.

Caravanserai was specially refurbished and decorated by local artists, to create a cheerful and comfortable space for visitors to put up their feet and have a cup of tea!

We have a unique approach - rather than a menu with prices, we provide our guests with complimentary drinks and refreshments. Once you are ready to leave, we ask you to consider making a donation. Donations received cover our running and catering costs - any profits over and above that will be donated to our current charity.

All profits are donated to Yorkhill Childrens Charity, who support the Royal Childrens Hospital, Glasgow. Our first campaign raised £3, 000 which was gifted on 10th December 2013 - the anniversary of our sons lifesaving operation there.
