POST NATAL REFLEXOLOGY: we hear, a lot, about maternity reflexology which is great for those expectant mothers and their littles in utero, but what about after we give birth? New mum's are often overwhelmed and feel forgotten when their little miracles arrive earth side. Reflexology given post-natally can be a vital gift for yourself or a loved on. It is a gentle, non-invasive treatment which is MUCH MORE than simple indulgence.
Self-care is such an important tool during the... years of raising a family. So often we forget about ourselves and focus every last bit of energy on making sure our children thrive. But what if I told you reflexology during the early post natal stages can;
Restore and rebalance hormones Induce a deep state of relaxation Lift mood Increase the production of breast milk Help reduce post natal swelling Aid sleep
My aim during a post natal treatment would be to support the mother's well being and provide a relaxing environment for her to reflect and return to her family with a boost in energy and feeling ready to connect to the challenges positively.
For more information on this or any other treatment specific to your needs. Get in touch.

Reflexology is preventative health care at its best...
Preventative health care is becoming ever more important as we realise the health-threatening dangers of our environment: stress, fatigue, chemical additives in the food we consume, polluted water supplies, radioactivity and poor air quality in built up areas to name just a few. All the forementioned hazards put a huge strain on our immune systems and should serve as a reminder that we MUST seek time to unwind and relax,... because our immune systems function at their peak when we manage through life without holding on to stresses. Only when the body is in good shape, both mentally and physically is it capable of effectively warding off potential illness. Using reflexology can help ward off common colds and flu by boosting our immunity and allowing the body to function at a stronger level to bugs which may otherwise have taken hold. This is particularly potent for those working with or spending a lot of time with different children as adults tend to pick up childhood bugs from the may snotty noses at various times of the year. Children will also benefits from fewer illnesses when receiving reflexology thus suggesting that this wonderful holistic experience really can keep our immune systems in tip top condition.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet and treat this gentleman tonight. His lovely wife wanted to take a photo of how relaxed he was. Shows off my amazingly comfy treatment chair too! I look forward to welcoming them both back for future treatments 😊 #reflexology #relax #treatment #painrelief #antiinflammatory #complementarytherapy #holistichealth #homestatis #feelwonderful #selfcareregime

Why people with cancer use it
Reflexology is one of the most popular types of complementary therapy in the UK among people with cancer. There is some evidence that reflexology can help to:
... relax and cope with stress and anxiety
help relieve pain
help lift their mood and give a feeling of well being
Some people think that reflexology can help:
boost the immune system
fight off colds and bacterial infections
reduce sinus problems
reduce back problems
change hormonal imbalances
overcome infertility
reduce digestion problems
reduce arthritic pain
reduce nerve tingling and numbness from cancer drugs (peripheral neuropathy)
What reflexology involves
On your first visit, your reflexologist will ask you some general questions about your health, lifestyle and medical history. They might ask to speak to your GP if they are concerned that reflexology could interfere with any other treatment or drugs that you are having. A reflexology session usually lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. You usually lie down or sit in a reclining chair while your reflexologist gently presses your feet and hands to assess your health. Most people say having reflexology feels relaxing and soothing. But pressure on some areas may be uncomfortable or slightly painful. Your therapist might tell you that this discomfort relates to problems in a particular part of your body. Your reflexologist may suggest a course of treatments instead of just one session.
Possible side effects
Generally, reflexology appears to be safe and doesn’t cause many side effects. Because most people feel relaxed after a treatment you might feel a bit light headed. Others report:
tender feet
feeling emotional
wanting to go to the toilet (to pass urine) more

2 very excited (but slightly miffed it's so cosy outside) faces, on our first day working out of Elite Professional Beauty room at Crichiebank Business Centre. I had a morning full of clients and Kerry Wilson has taken over the fort this afternoon. Thanks again to Kara for this opportunity and for the very thoughtful card and bubbles! 😊

Why not add Reflexology to your self-care regime and witness the health benefits Reflexology can offer:
Our foot which bears the weight of the whole body, allows locomotion and does a lot of work. Still they are the least pampered part of the body. To pamper your feet and keep them strong and flexible, regular reflexology sessions are a good option.
Reflexology is an ancient healing practice based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond to th...e body’s different organs and glands. The human foot is an evolutionary marvel, capable of handling hundreds of tons of force and your weight in motion. It has 42 muscles, 26 bones, 33 joints, 250,000 sweat glands and at least 50 ligaments and tendons. In particular the feet has almost 15,000 nerve endings.
So, in reflexology pressure is applied to these reflexes on the feet, which promotes good health. Here are some health benefits of reflexology:
Improves blood circulation:
Due to a sedentary lifestyle, we don’t use the feet muscles properly and wear tight footwear, all this hampers the circulation of feet. Reflexology helps transport oxygen to the body’s cells, which is essential for overall health.
Fights depression:
Reflexology helps in fighting depression. Certain points on the feet are helpful in alleviating symptoms of stress, anxiety or depression.
Helps aid relaxation:
After a tiring and stressful day, reflexology is soothing and relaxing and can improve feelings of general well-being.
Promotes better sleep:
The best time to have reflexology is before going to bed. A soothing and relaxing session improves the blood circulation. This helps in getting a peaceful sleep.
Relieves body pains:
This is the best part of reflexology. If done carefully, it treats pains and aches such as headaches, migraines, neck pain, lower and upper backaches.
