FAIT MAIZ offers bespoke rustic wooden furniture specialising in reusing old whiskey /bourbon barrels. The large Bar-rel is a solid oak whiskey cask (30 + years old), freshly emptied, lovingly refurbished and individually customised into a drinks cabinets.

Did you know that because of the weather over here and the small cask, the bourbon age quicker than in Kentucky!? Twice quicker!! I’ve had a high proof single cask that was great and also this double cask with 115 proof... my favourite! Bourbon aromas that quick you right in the face! This is a Texan bourbon and it’s dam good! A project in collaboration with @thealteredstatelasercutting .We found that challenging to use an old rusty brake disc to build this whisky table. A genuine oak cask end with some reclaimed staves, a few bolts and let's make! We never used an arc welder before so it was a bit tricky to start but we've manage after a good laugh and good fun. Not pretty but sturdy weld! It's the best way to learn! Next time we will give the metal surfaces a go with the grinder to help welding t...hough. Looking forward to see your #brakediscchallenge !
