In response to the current corona virus pandemic, the NHS Grampian Endowment fund is seeking to provide Comfort Boxes to every ward, team, location and department throughout Grampian. These boxes will provide treats, snacks and toiletries for staff and patients. The NHSG Endowment Fund has already pledged £100,000 to COVID-19 research.
Please help them to acknowledge, in this small way, the tremendous work of everyone who contributes to our health service and show them that... we all care deeply about their wellbeing during these difficult days.

Grampian Hospitals Art Trust will be remote working as of today. The welfare of our own staff and the people we work closely with is our priority so we have closed the office and suspended most of our face to face operations, including Artroom, until the end of April.
The Suttie Arts Space will remain open and available 24/7 for patients and staff in hospital.
GHAT staff are working on ways to engage with our audience and followers online so watch this space. We will update ...everyone as the situation evolves and look forward to resuming work with you all when it is possible.

Alexander Fraser, RSA, RSW (1940 – 2020)⁣ . Grampian Hospitals Art Trust are sad to hear of the death of artist Alexander ‘Sandy’ Fraser. . The images are of large oil paintings from the GHAT Art Collection (roughly 2m x 2m) titled Guild Street No. 4 & Guild Street No. 8... . Biography via The Scottish Gallery as follows: . ‘Fraser studied at Gray's School of Art in the late 1950s where he subsequently taught, becoming a hugely influential teacher as Head of Painting. His late intricate paintings are both atmospheric and beguiling, offering the audience intriguing compositions of people, animals, architecture and landscapes. He drew inspiration from memories of travel and the history and folklore of his native Aberdeenshire, saying ‘I paint my family and my environment transformed by myth.’ A celebrated portrait artist, his works feature in many public and private collections throughout the United Kingdom. His last exhibition with The Scottish Gallery was in February 2011. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.’ . #grampianhospitalsarttrust #ghat #alexanderfraser #painter #aberdeenart #aberdeenartist #graysschoolofart #aberdeen #nhsg #nhsgrampian #paintinginhospitals #artinhospitals #artwellbeing #artinhealthcare @ Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

#Repost @catto_amanda (@get_repost) ・・・ John Walter | Co-Factors
The Suttie Arts Space, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary - until 10th May 2020
... Sharing the colour and maximalist aesthetic of John Walter’s work as a counter to a very drab and dreich day.
Made an early morning visit yesterday - the gallery is open 24 hours / 7 days a week - all visitors welcome👍
These works are part of the larger CAPSID project - a collaboration between the artist and molecular virologist Professor Greg Towers (UCL) - addressing a crisis of representation surrounding viruses such as HIV by bringing new scientific knowledge about viral capsids to the attention of the wider public.
Thanks @grampian_hospitals_art_trust @sally.moir @homemcr @southwarkparkgalleries

Exhibition installation shots of the current exhibition at The Small Gallery by Jean Firth . Turn and Run, The Monkeys Ride . The Small Gallery, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – open 24 hours... . 8 February – 17 April 2020 . Jean Firth is an award-winning artist from the Borders town of Hawick, living and working in Aberdeen. Jean’s work is mostly painting and sewing which is influenced by her family and early life experiences. . Jean graduated from Gray’s School of Art in 2018. She has a studio at the Northern Arts Club. . Through the process of painting, Jean turns photos and memories of growing up into myths. They begin to drift away from reality, into surreal forms of remembering and making. . The exhibition is based on a selection of photos from 2003 – of birthdays, Christmas, and one of many camping trips to the Allan Water by Jean and her family. . #ghat #grampianhospitalsarttrust #thesmallgalleryari #ari #aberdeenroyalinfirmary #nhsgrampian #painting #textileart #artinhospitals
