Haddo as you know has been closed since Mid October, due to the outlandish weed growth last summer, Hopefully the weed will be cleared after feb when we get out of the freeze. The lake is currently frozen over. In order to be able to get Haddo open and keep it open I need help with the weed and bank work, any interested parties please contact me....................Viv

Lee Cooper supporting a young lad who wanted to go fishing, they fished on despite the weather. Great to see someone giving up their time to support and encourage youngsters, I would like to see more of this.

Sunday, saw the welcome return of Mike and Susan Cormie, along with Riff , a purpose bred 2 year old German Wired Pointer , Lab cross. As normal Mike and Susan caught, ( the outcome I will not disclose) despite the weather. Jet and Riff played, fussed, and had a couple of disagreements, mainly Jets fault overwhelmed by a 2 year old puppy of magnificent proportions, but in general had a good time

Sat saw the French family, Tony Kerry, Savannah, and Olivia enjoyed a day out fishing. Dad and the girls caught, and Mum Kerry patiently kept the peace.........and Jet makes new friends

Saturday was successful for a group who traveled down from Elgin, Tam, Iain and Gary.
Old Soldiers never die they just regroup and go fishing

The ever faithful Ian Christie on his way to 7 in 3 hours, personally I had a tiger on a dry, decent fight but give me a good blue anytime

User

Interesting day, the fruit pickers arrived this morning, apples and damsons ( no point in processing myself as the house may sell before the product comes to fruition) and Jet makes a new friend

Apologies for the the fishery been closed over the last couple of weeks, the weed got on top of me, and I worked myself to a standstill, and with a good dose of man flu and the main pump playing up I had to rest up, however normal service will be resume as of Today. Please call before you come to get the latest status on the fishery. Anyone wishing to lend a hand whilst the lake is tamed please call me.

Timely update on the competition, Stuu Crockett leader after the first week, just slipped in to lead after the second week, but has now slipped into 3rd, TBC. however he was the first to catch a tiger and the first to catch all four types. Now leading is young Andy Wallace , followed by Matt Wallace , devasting with their stalking bugs, third Stuu, then Robbie McPherson ,Partick McPherson and Alan Duncan

At last, regulars will know that since Jet arrived my socks have gone missing, 7 pairs? This evening we were playing with the the toy fish, commonly known as flubber, well flubber is now missing but I do have a pair of socks back in exchange.

I promised myself a complete day off today, didn't quite work out for either of the fisheries, and a cock up with a courier who unfortunatley broke down. ( more of that later). Eventually things settled down, and the housework done, after a summer of late evenings and 15 min junk food from the co-op. With the nights drawing in and the change in the weather it was time to make sure my fireside cooking skills were still intact so Chili Concarna with rice was the test., made possible by the estranged one and my caring angel provider. This is the first time Jet has seen a fire.......cautious , but made Jet proof after cooking.

Was planning 2 week vacation & came across Haddo Fishery thru google when searching for fishing around Aberdeen - Fantastic day had by all - My son caught his fair share of fish & met a new friend named Jet. Great day with the fish taking drys - rainbow, blue & browns (elk hair caddis). Great hospitality from Viv with his unexpected BBQ lunch & son got a few tips that will make him a future fly fisherman - Highly Recommended if in/around area & cannot wait to go back. Thanks Viv

Top class fishery highly recommend the place. Viv is an excellent host

Probably one of the best fisheries I've visited. An exceptional 5acre loch set in beautiful surroundings. Mine host Viv and Jet the cocker spaniel gave us the warmest of welcomes. A lovely barbecue was fired up for lunch. And to put the icing on the cake Viv caught smoked and rowed out with two servings of smoked trout in a pitta bread. And the fishing was amazing. Can't thank you enough mate. Thanks again for Sun morning at Delgaty. Most definitely be back

User

User

First time at haddo in about 2 years and was not dissapointed. Viv has fairly knocked the place into its former glory again. Weeds under controll, clear inlets and outlets, great boats, great hut and great craik. Would recommend this place to anyone who has never fished from boats or float tube before or for someone who wants a bit of a challenge as the trout aint easy. All thast said 12 rainbows to 5lb and 1 brown to 3.5lb all on a flash damsel.

User

First time at Haddo Fishery for just over 18 months. All I can say is what an amazing job Viv has done turning it back to a top water, new boats, weeds excellently controlled and full of wildlife. One of my favourite "boat" fly fisheries. Fish were strong fighting and very healthy, an excellent days fishing. If you enjoy fishing the fly from a boat you really have to give Haddo a try, it will soon be one you have returned to many times. 10/10.
