Swedish Body Massage

Swedish Massage is used to relax soft body tissue and promote healing, making it a perfect choice for relaxation and to relieve muscular aches and pains. The pressure applied can vary depending on the client's body type and preference. The blood flow is stimulated by the massage movements, which increases the supply of nutrients to the bones. As the blood supply increases oxygen and nutrients are carried to the area where the joints are nourished; helping maintain suppleness in the joints.

It is helpful in relieving muscular tension caused by poor posture, physical activities and stress, by promoting relaxation and eliminating the build-up of lactic acid, uric acid and other metabolic wastes.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a deep tissue massage that is used to efficiently treat injuries caused from over use or repetitive movements. By removing blockages and damaged cells, it quickens recovery and encourages complete healing. By regularly having massage it can help prevent small injuries develop into major problems which results in a reduction in muscle function.

Some of the benefits of remedial massage are: it can identify problem areas, relaxes and stretches muscles, improves range of motion, relieves pain and stress, relaxes the body and mind and speeds recovery and healing from exertion.

1 hour treatment - £40

Hot Stone Massage

The body is massaged using hot Basalt stones which are dense volcanic stones that have energy and healing properties. They give out vibrational energy that interacts with a person's energy field and the chakras of the body; treating the body in a positive way. The circulatory system is stimulated and self-healing is promoted resulting in a deep state of relaxation, a feeling of peacefulness and spiritual well-being. Tired, sore and aching muscles are relieved and tendons become more elastic due to the warmth created. Cold marine stones can also be used, which will de-sensitise and soothe after a sensitising treatment. They can have a balancing effect on the circulation locally and promote healing when alternated with hot stones.

Full Body - (1 hour and 30 mins) - £55
Back, Neck and Shoulders - (45 mins) - £35

Remedial Massage with Hot Stones

Using the Basalt stones affects the body in a positive way, giving out vibrational energy that interacts with a person's energy field. By using the hot stones at the beginning of the treatment heat is produced on the surface of the skin and is carried down to the deep layers of the muscles by the blood. Warm tendons will loosen faster and stretch further and tight and sore muscles will instantly feel relaxed. Once the therapist has worked on problem areas the hot stones are then used again to soothe the muscles.

1 hour treatment - £45

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage has been practiced by the women of India for over 1000 years and originates from the Ayurveda healing system, working on the belief that ailments are caused by blockages in the energy flow around the body. By massaging the head, shoulders, neck, upper arms, face, ears and working on the upper chakras, this helps clear the blockages returning the body to a state of health.

Indian Head Massage can be beneficial in promoting hair growth and providing relief from aches and pains. In addition to having a physical effect on the body it works on an emotional level too, promoting relaxation, calming the spirit and relieving stress.

It can bring relief to those suffering from tension headaches, migraines, eye-strain, tinnitus, sinusitis /congestion, neck and shoulder stiffness and insomnia.

Reflexology

Reflexology is an ancient form of therapy dating back to 2330BC when the Egyptians where know to have used it. Inscriptions where illustrated on the wall of the tomb of an influential physician, Ankhmahor, of men having their feet and hands massaged.

Reflexology is a holistic healing technique treating the individual as a whole, incorporating the body, mind and spirit. The Reflexologist does not treat a specific illness or concentrate on an isolated problem organ; they treat the person as a whole with the purpose of restoring a state of balance and harmony. The feet, hands and ears have reflex points which mirror the organs, glands and other parts of the body. When the Reflexologist applies a specific pressure technique to these reflex points it results in a response in areas of the body. It can help promote relaxation; improves mood; aids sleeps; helps relieve tension and improves a sense of well-being.
