This is a long overdue post, but here in the gym we are all super proud of Phil achieving his Level 3 KB sport coach certification earlier this year!
Phil has trained with me pretty much from the start of KBA and has very much travelled the exciting journey we are having. Phil's kettlebell sport experience spans from our first comp in Aberdeen in June 2012, through to actively lifting for Scotland at various International competitions.
... He achieved his certification under Scott McLaughlin Performance Training and is actively using his skills and experience to coach others kettlebell sport in the gym.
Well done again Phil, great achievement and keep going strong, fella!

📣 Strive for progress, not Perfection. 👌 Great to see Caz performing the Clean and Jerk last night for the first time on 2x18kg kettlebells. . Anyone training with us understands our belief of smart kettlebell training, from beginners through to advanced lifters. .... On any given lift and ability, we’ve stayed true to our learnings: 1. Increase the time you can perform (with continued solid ability) 2. Increase the pace/reps you can achieve within the time (with continued solid ability) 3. THEN increase the weight. (Return to a very short time frame) 4. Return to 1. and repeat the cycle. . The result? . A well practised, self-informed and experienced lifter. . As a working example, what did Caz do yesterday? After performing many sets of clean and Jerk with 2x 16kg bells at various lengths of time, and at various reps achieved in those times, she increased the weight to 2x 18kg bells for 4 sets of ‘only’ 5 reps. The reps were achieved with solid ability, her confidence was grown and we return to point 1 in training. . Smart training, strive for progress. .
