Went with a friend on Saturday afternoon for the afternoon tea. Never had anything like it. Lovely bruschetta with tasty toppings, then the sweet board with mini scones with cream & jam and lovely cakes. Tea of course, but could have cocktail, prosecco, or one of an unusual selection of gins, as well. Staff friendly and nice surroundings.

We visited the Kirk View restaurant on Saturday evening and were so impressed with the food and atmosphere! We were incredibly surprised by the quality of food and the options! We had planned to go there anyway before we found out about restaurant week so it was a lovely surprise. We took the restaurant week menu and for what we paid it was amazing! We will most definitely be visiting again! Highly recommended

We visited Kirkview Bistro on Saturday night for their first birthday celebrations and it was a great night.



The menu was set and included a five course taster menu, gin cocktails and live music.



We were given amuse-bouche of lentil soup which came served in pretty cup and saucers. This was so tasty and homely which was just what we needed on the damp night.



Then we had a selection of bruschetta, I particularly liked the goats cheese and caramelised onion. My husband liked the smoked salmon and cream chesse.



Afterwards we had a trio of starters which included marinated prawns, halloumi salad and haggis and black pudding bonbons. This was great as I like halloumi and husband likes prawns and we both like haggis and black pudding so it was a great balance.



For our main we had a selection of salmon, fillet streak and chicken supreme.



For dessert we had affogato with baileys and espresso which was our choice from the menu.



The gin cocktails were very refreshing and my husband is now a convert. I really loved the nettle gin with Mediterranean tonic.



It was a very relaxed evening and we will definitely be back to try some more great food . Thanks for such excellent service and congratulations on celebrating your first birthday.

Was there with my daughter before the theatre. She had the chicken, chips and peas and a glass of pineapple juice. This was free as kids eat free over the summer. I had the smoked haddock risotto which was so tasty � very reasonable priced. I liked that they had pencils/pens to give to the children. Also, there was a wee tub with books and toys. Would definitely recommend

Six of us booked in tonight for my daughter’s birthday, amazing food, outstanding service and chilled atmosphere - will be back again very soon! ��

Sitting there right now, most perfectly cooked steak I’ve had in years , awaiting an espresso martini as we speak phenomenal staff great food great atmosphere would recommend everyone to try!

Just had afternoon tea with my chum at this café, it was absolutely awesome, think one of the best we have ever had, and we have had a few - lovely bruschetta with great toppings and the cakes and scones were amazing, all freshly baked - 2-4-1 offer in January, so get yourself down there to sample, we will definitely return, great service too - had lovely glass Prosecco also with a raspberry, lovely !

Had booked here for 6pm on Thursday before we were meant to see Russell Brand at HMT at 20.00, however the show was cancelled, but we decided to keep our table. This was our first time trying here and we were very impressed! Had the three courses for £24.95 and every one was lovely and if we had been going to the theatre we would have been out in plenty of time as we had finished all our courses by 19.30 without having to rush things along :-) I myself had the mussels, halloumi salad and the coconut and chocolate cake, very nice!

Had a lovely lunch and a few drinks today. Highly recommended. Perfect for a pre theatre meal

Great food and great service. My two are a bit of a handful when out being that they are two and three years old. The staff came over and played with them giving them toys and colouring crayons. Kids loved it AND ate all of their lunch! Never happens..They really went out of their way to accommodate my young children and that was very much appreciated. Will be back again, highly recommend.

Best afternoon tea I’ve had! Bruschettas were fantastic, very accommodating with toppings, so tasty! Cakes were very fresh and the whole experience was great!

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea - bruschetta style open sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious. Staff really friendly and helpful. Lovely surroundings too and great spot for people watching through the big windows. Will be back!!

Went here prior to theatre and the food was amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection and very good value for money. I would definitely come back. One thing that could be improved is the white wine. We had a bottle of Sauvignon blanc which was ok but not fantastic. We then went on to have a glass of Pinot and not much better. That said this wouldn’t stop me from going back as the cocktails looked amazing! 😉

Great meal, and although I’m vegan, they made an effort for me and gave me a choice of two items. It was lovely. My only reason for the 4 stars is the huge wait between the starters and the main. Could have been because of my vegan meal, but they could have told us. It was well after 9 before we got our mains. But a lovely meal, warm restaurant Nd good atmosphere.

Very disappointing burger was so dry and burnt and my sister in laws duck was chewy told waitress she apologised but no reduction in bill also never got asked if we wanted coffee so won’t be returning or recommend

Disappointed by my first (and likely last) visit. Food took ages to come (and the pork was still undercooked) in spite of there being hardly anyone else there and portion sizes, even the veg, very meagre. We had to cancel our dessert order because the other courses took so long (and we had to get to the theatre) and the staff weren't bothered at all. �
