About Kirkton Of Skene Playgroup
Kirkton of Skene Playgroup is a small, local playgroup which caters to 2. 5-5 year old children located 1 /2 mile from Westhill
Kirkton Of Skene Playgroup Description
Kirkton of Skene Playgroup is a small friendly playgroup ideally situated in Kirkton of Skene. Adjacent to the Milne Hall is ample green space and play park, there are woods to go for nature walks, fields to visit to see cows and sheep, local shop to visit and buy snack and in the not so nice weather we have a large hall for physical activities and games.
The children are always kept busy as they learn through play via a variety of ways such as role play, construction, IT, craft, puzzles, books etc all carefully planned and led by the staff and ensuring they are achieving the aims of the Curriculum for Excellence. Kirkton of Skene playgroup are also registered with Eco-schools.
The playgroup work closely with Skene Primary School to ensure a smooth transition from pre-school education to Primary 1.
Kirkton of Skene playgroup are members of Early Years Scotland and governed by the Care Inspectorate. The last inspection was in November 201 the report can be viewed on their website.
Please note we are a charity run by a voluntary committee and require parent involvement in fundraising and assisting staff on a rotational basis.

All children in the surrounding area welcome (not just Skene Primary catchment).

Ages 2. 5 years to 5 years
Government funding is available from the term following a child's 3rd birthday.
Non funded /under 3's are charged at £7. 00 per session (correct as at Aug 15).

Our Easter Bunny has a name.........'Pickles' 😃
Thanks once again to Jill and Steve from the Village Store in Kirkton of Skene who drew the winning name. Also for the delicious hot chocolate they provided from their cafe to warm us up after the Easter trail last weekend 🥶.
Pickles the bunny will be heading to his new home very soon.

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold wind and supported our Easter trail yesterday. We still have a few of our knitted chicks with mini eggs left and have been selling these for £1, please get in touch if you would like to buy one.
The last day for entering the colouring competition and 'name the bunny' draw is Thursday this week so get your completed pictures back to playgroup to be in with a chance of winning one of three chocolate bunnies/Easter egg. If you would still like to try have a go at naming the bunny it is £1 a go, again get in touch if you feel lucky!
