Leslie castle, the end of summer.
As our season draws to an end, we would like to thank all the guests who have stayed with us. We are open for about another month and then we will be closed until April.
We have had a busy weekend, the Highland Games at Braemar were a great success, and the weather was good. Here at Leslie Castle there was very much an international atmosphere with guests from Canada, the United States, Italy and France. Going to the games and staying in the Castle seemed to be a winning combination.
Fascinating. We had some guests who spent 3 days going round these ancient standing stones for inspiration in their art and sculpture work.
Aberdeen city and shire family history fair at the Town House and Archives will be open to the public with knowledgeable people on hand to answer questions and run tours. Anyone planning to go?

The Castle is owned by the Baron of Leslie and is surrounded by rolling hills. With countryside perfect for walking, hiking, fishing, golfing, nordic skiing or just relaxing. We are close to the Whisky Trail and to the Castle Trail, there are a plethora of places to explore, from anci...ent castles to Royal Castles, from distilleries to cooperage. There is something for everyone with a history spanning thousands of years from the age of flint to recumbent stone circles, to ancient hill forts, to the Romans and Pictish tribes. With over 300 castles, stately homes and ruins dotting its landscape, Aberdeenshire is unsurprisingly known as 'Scotland's Castle Country'. We are also a convenient stayover for those touring between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Inverness/Skye. For the Leslie clan-folk there are particular local visitor sites to see, such as Leslie Cross at the chapel of Garioch, the ruins of Balquhain Castle, the Battle of Harlaw Monument as well as the Leslie Kirkyard. All guests staying at the Leslie castle are offered a guided tour of the castle and information about the castles history and restoration. Good food and a good nights sleep will round off any exciting day of exploration.

My wife and I went there on our anniversary. It was also special that I was a direct Leslie descendant. You were extremely nice and accommodating. Almost like family that we didn't know that we had. I know that we will be planning on coming back there in the future. Wonderful, wonderful food and awesome memories. A must see in Scotland.
Lovely place, lovely people, lovely stay, we will definitely stay there again.
I was taken to this beautiful castle as part of my surprise weekend for my 30th!! I loved everything about this place... the scenic views to get there and then once I was there it was like a dream, I stayed in a castle!!! John and Nicola were amazing hosts and so was their son Jeremy! The bed was the most comfy bed I have ever slept on and the food was amazing... Nicola and John can we come back please?! We are already planning our next stay... thank you for everything
