Thank you to everyone that contributed to our crowdfunding campaign to bring SCOTLANDS 1ST CHEESE RESTAURANT to Aberdeen. We didn’t quite make our target but every penny helps and will help us massively. We can’t wait to share the next steps with you. With only 12 hours to go let’s bring it right home. Melt is me, Mechelle, my husband Ramsay, my 3 old wifey cats. It was a gamble that paid off, that is stressful, exhausting, emotional, satisfying and great fun. Well, what can I say. The whole Melt project just exudes finesse and attention to detail. I'm really impressed. Homemade recipes from someone who really understands food. And also, you pay for a high quality product- it's worth every penny. And it really exudes a sense of generosity, I get the feeling that the owner wants to give the customer an amazing experience. Well done! :)

Visited their shop last year for the first time and have been daydreaming about it ever since! Went to their stall at Gordon Castle Highland Games and there wasn't as much variety (obviously, with it being a stall) but was chuffed to see a veggie option for the haggis. Delicious - I'll be back soon!

The toasties are delicious! My current favourite are the Bruiser and Mac and Beans. Excellent service from lovely staff members. The soup is lovely and compliments the toasties well, and a delicious brownie finishes the meal off well. The only tiny negative is opening hours, as they close too early for me to be able to go during the week.

The haggis, cheese and bacon toastie is now one of my favourite things, sooo good!!

I’ve tried most, if not all, of the toasties and a few of the specials too. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

I've been dying to try Melt since it opened but I've never made it up that end of town until day. I have to say the wait and anticipation were totally worth it! I had the Mac Melt which was just incredible with a very generous filling and the wait wasn't long for something cooked to order. The staff were also delightful and friendly too. I will definitely be back!

I'm stoked - a toastie isn't part of my usual diet given I'm gluten free, dairy free and processed food free, buuuuuuuut it was fine just to have a wee cheeky GF vegan toastie ��� besides that, my 8 year old is delighted with her hog & cheese toastie.... yum yum �����

I visit my family in Aberdeen at least every 8 weeks and we go here for lunch every time.

I can't eat gluten so sometimes going out for food can be a hit or a miss. Melt is definitely a major HIT! Lovely friendly girls. Such a quirky uplifting shop, feels very welcoming and homely. And the food is amazing!!! My completely gluten free classic sarnie made my day �

Having been aware of Melt for a while now - via the social channels of a couple of my Glasgow clients - it was on a visit to the Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy last month that I finally got an opportunity to try Melt for myself.



A simple concept and quality ingredients combine to elevate the humble toastie to the next degree.



A road trip by the Melt crew to one of Glasgow's street food events (after years of quality-minded traders fighting tooth-and-nail with Glasgow City Council, they are slowly beginning to happen) would be a great move!

Finally visited Melt on 29 December 2016 - this was on my 'to do' list by end 2016. So very glad I did! My husband and I shared a haggis, bacon & cheese melt. Absolutely delicious and absolutely massive! Great value for money. I'm always delighted to support local businesses and to purchase fresh produce made on the premises. I'll definitely be paying a return visit to this treasure trove of ultimate cheese goodness! Put this on your 'to do' list for 2017 - it will be worth it!

Can't believe I didn't know there was a cheese toastie shop in Aberdeen until now. Had the bruiser yesterday, food of the gods, and the milkshake was awesome too

By far the most beautiful toasties we've ever bought. I had haggis and bacon and my other half had pesto and sun dried tomatoes and we were both extremely blown away by how tasty they were!! Friendly staff even when extremely busy in the shop with orders. We will definitely be back �

Ate my first Melt toastie at the Greyhope Bay event today, but almost didn't as I wondered if it was worth 5 and a bit quid on a cheese and bacon toastie. It was actually hygiene that did it for me. On the other stall food and money was being handled with bare hands, and I already noticed that the two ladies at the Melt stall wore gloves, and the lady taking orders changed her gloves after handling money (it really matters to some of us!). The hog melt was so worth it. So tasty and very filling, and the bechamel sauce was an unexpected bonus. I'll be popping into the shop to try your other varieties.

Amazing sun-dried tomato and pesto melt - even the bread it was on was super tasty. Just what I needed in the cold weather. Good to see the staff were still cheery too! Will need to try the brownies next time �
