We were delighted to once again be the main sponsors of the Kirkwall Open Triples at the Kirkwall Bowling Club over the weekend.
After a very close and exciting final, the winners of main competition were Kevin Watters, Barrie Bruce and Greg Rendall who won 14-13 against Craig Rendall, John Hamilton and Craig Hourston.
Winners of the Plate competition were George Grieve, George Rendall and John Drever, with Kenny Gunn, Andy Swain and Colin Brown taking the runners up positio...n.
Our Marketing Officer, Cheryl Kelday, went along to present the trophies and prizes to the teams.

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is Scotland's youth employment strategy and through DYW, they aim to reduce youth unemployment levels by 40% by 2021. We are looking forward to participating in the #nowrongpath campaign next Tuesday (7th of August) when some of our staff will tell the story of their career journey to help young people realise the varied pathways that can be taken into many jobs.

We think that the new 100th anniversary Shetland football shirts look very smart!
The Shetland men’s football and women’s hockey teams go head to head with their Orkney opponents in tomorrow’s inter-county matches.
The 86th Senior Intercounty Hockey match between Orkney and Shetland for the Lady Hamilton Cup takes place on Sat 28th July at 12pm at the Pickaquoy Centre, followed by the 100th Milne Cup football match at 2pm on the centre pitch.
... We hope everyone participating has a great day.

Members of the Stromness Rowing Club have been presented with a traditional Shetland Yoal, built thanks to the NorthLink Ferries Traditional Boat Building Project.
Local Shetland boat builders, Jack Duncan and Robbie Tait began working on the brand new clinker built fourareen at Shetland Boat Week in August last year using traditional boat building techniques. The boat, which has now been delivered to the Stromness Rowing Club, has been named the Havera after the now uninhab...ited island located off the South West coast of Shetland.
