Went for a new year meal and drinks with family on 3rd Jan. All of us agreed that the food was fantastic for the price! I paid 3 times as much in malmaison before Xmas for 3 times less the taste of that in the paddock.!! Would definitely recommend this place, oh and my 5yr old nephew was in his element in the play area. Can't wait to get back to the paddock in the summer for outdoor sun and the children can play. Oh and the bus to Aberdeen or Stonehaven runs right past the pub! Meant we could have a wee extra drinks or 5!!!!!!!

Was here last year too and the entertainment "Angela Minty" was fantastic!!!! Great atmosphere. I only wish I stayed in portlethen!!!

User

We're very new to the area and it was our first visit there yesterday. Very impressed with both the service and food. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Great menu and lots of options on the kids menu. I'd recommend the Club Sandwich and will definitely be going back for lunch again. Relaxed environment and great value for money.

User

We went for breakfast/ lunch today. Menu was really good and cooked fresh. Really happy and friendly service. My 2 year old and one year old were delighted with the food and play park.

User

Was up with the family and friends for tea tonight great food, absolutely great service made to feel so welcome highly recommend !!

User

Third or fourth time now at the Paddock and always pleased with food and service. We have a 16 month old with us and she is well catered for by the staff bringing out tuna sandwiches immediately, she's a very impatient little girl when it comes to food! I am vegan and that her never been a problem, my needs are always catered for. Will definitely be back again, hopefully be able to sit outside in the sun next time!

User

Popped in past for lunch on Saturday as hadn't been in for a while. Bill was looking for a hangover cure so he had the All Day Breakfast and I had my favourite

Macaroni Cheese. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food..tasty and plentiful. Nice staff too. Will definitely be back.

User

Just had the best fish & chips ever!

Homemade tartare sauce too

Service with a smile , great food

User

Just been in for tea and had one of the specials, Jamaican lamb curry. So tasty and melt in the mouth without being overly spicy. My friend had scampi and chips which she also enjoyed. Served by a lovely hard working waitress called Holly. Would highly recommend.

User

Hubby and I went for coffee and lunch on a rare, child free day and we found the service was good and a good selection on the menu. I had a chicken fajita wrap and hubby had macaroni cheese bake with crusty bread. We were both pleasantly surprised! Food was good and when we got the bill i had to double check as it was so cheap I thought they had missed something off, but no! Just great prices! We would have previously gone to Brewers fayre if eating out in portlethen but now it'll definitely be the paddock!

User

Had dinner here on Monday 20th, started with the Haggis fritter, followed by the Beef, Pork and Chirizo burger with cheese and chilli on top! Both were amazing!! Great taste and perfect portion sizes! Service was also very quick and friendly

User

Great friendly bar, plenty of staff always served with a smile.

Although I never tried it, the food looked great and there were a lot of reserved tables.

Plenty of Tv's to watch Sports.

A great welcome with plenty of tables and chairs both inside and outside, with a children's play area outside. Will be even better in the summer.

User

From start to finish on the Halloween special.. I loved it so much..black pud Bon bons and chicken curry and a wee sneeky sticky toffee pud was fantastic!' Thanks to the chefs....well done

User

Extensive menu and a special.........our food was lovely, the steak pie was warming and tasted fantastic - you could see every layer of pastry, just lovely........

User

Came in for dinner last Thursday - great to see the place busy with diners and football-watchers! Food was tasty and quickly served and the waitress was very attentive despite running round looking after everyone. Will definitely be back.

User

I like the paddock it's family friendly clean and welcoming but twice I have been moved from my table to acomadate people that came in for a meal. When I sat at the table it was not reserved!! I think it's bad management.. I was told to move through to the bar if I was not having a meal.

User

Good choice of menu at reasonable price. Waitress very efficient even getting drinks from bar for us. Can be a bit noisy.

User

We are a group of several mums from Portlethen who are always looking for new places to meet for lunch with our babies, today we decided to try the paddock. The gentleman who greeted us was friendly and helpful, the service was quick and the food was tasty.

Our main issue was with the lady that served us. She was rather grumpy and made us feel like an inconvenience from when we arrived.

There were 9 of us in total, most of us ordering soup and a sandwich - there was one table other than ours. After the meal the lady told us that we really should have booked.... I could understand this comment if they were busy, as there was a number of buggies that needed to be accommodated and were taking up room, however It was really quiet. This final comment amplified our feeling that we had since we arrived - that we were an inconvenience. It's unfortunate, but we won't be back.

User

We went for lunch but unfortunately the food was quite disappointing. The older waitress who served us seemed grumpy and didn't smile once. You would think under new management they would be making ever effort to impress but it appears some staff can't be bothered. The young waitress who assisted us with paying the bill was actually smiling and nice enough though. In general I wouldn't recommend for food.

I came here on Friday evening for a girly catch up with 2 friends. Our intention was to go for a meal and some drinks. One of the girls booked in advance as we weren't sure how busy it would be, especially if it was a nice night. We arrived on time and got taken to our table very quickly - so far so good. We then ordered our food with some sides. The majority of the food all came at once but we had to re-ask for 2 of the sides as they had forgotten about them. As we waited for the sides, the same waitress came out with food for another table - etiquette - correct me if I am wrong, should it not be that they finish serving us first before moving on to another table? Anyway.. The food was mediocre, I expected better to be honest. Our plates weren't actually taken away until we decided to move table as a booth had become available. We waited near enough 20+ minutes for someone before I ended up going to the bar and asking someone if we could order desserts, to which I was told 'Oh the chef will have probably gone home by now.' We were not once asked if we wanted desserts and were just left to it.. We could well have walked out and not even paid for the poor service we received as they wouldn't have noticed. The waitress then came over and gave us our dessert menus and said 'I don't serve here, I serve at the bar.' OK that's great but noone has came to us in over 45 minutes, are we supposed to just wait until closing for someone to ask us to leave? The only saving grace was that another waitress was very friendly and helpful after I spilled a drink - completely my fault and no I was not drunk as I had only been served 2 drinks in the whole 4 hours I was there. Really had high hopes as this is my local bar and felt like we should be supporting local retailers but unfortunately was left disappointed. We wouldn't be returning.
