Sea Front Cottages - "Pew With A View" & “Door To The Shore” Description

A totally unique Scottish seafront cottage with its own boat house, situated 5 metres from the sea. "Pew with a view" is situated in the hamlet of Pitullie in the North east coast of Scotland. The cottage is a renovated fisherman’s cottage dating back to the 1600's and sits 5 metres from the sea. It has direct access to a boat ramp which leads into a small harbour allowing easy access for boats, kayaks, Jet Skis and divers. This site is frequented by diving clubs around North East Scotland and is known as one of the best diving sites in the area. The Boat House situated under the cottage is ideal for storing fishing and water sport equipment. The cottage has floor to ceiling storm-proof windows and is a perfect spot to birdwatch or to enjoy the many dolphins, minky whales and seals which frequently pass by. The cottage has a large decking area and garden with a small natural burn running through it. There is a range of Garden furniture and a fire pit to enjoy the outdoors day or night. Aurora Borealis are common in this area.

What a fabulous two night break. Clean comfortable and everything we needed. A view like no where else- we watched sunrise and sunset the tide come in and the tide roll out - heaven. Wish we could stay longer

We got a warm welcome and had a wonderful stay at this amazing cottage. The cottage is very tastefully decorated but the main attraction is the big window overlooking the sea.

We absolutely love this cottage! It’s a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle. We had sun, storm and snow! What an amazing experience. The view from the living room is breathtaking! I can stare at the waves for hours and forget about the world. I’m glad I found this little gem!

WONDERFUL PLACE.

Very easy to find just to the west of Fraserburgh. And as you turn into the little driveway, it's like entering another world. A short stretch of grass leads onto a rugged rocky shoreline directly opposite a natural wee harbour. Sea birds a plenty and a couple of seals and a fantastic storm window offering a view of the whole lot.

The boathouse itself is quaint without being twee - Sue's little touches (lighthouse candle holders and lots of little lamps eg) make it a lovely warm little hideaway.

Has everything you need from washing machine and tumble dryer to binoculars for watching the boats and cosy blankets to snuggle into.

Very therapeutic and great for the soul our 3 nights felt like a fortnight. Can't recommend it enough!

This is a unique little luxury hobbit den. It looks smaller from the outside than it feels inside. It is pitched as 'glamping' but it is so much more than that. It is the only place like this nearby but perfect for one or two people sharing. The best thing about this is the location is that it looks right out to sea and the front door being glass, allows you to gaze out all day at the wildlife and the views. The kitchenette has everything you need, with a hot plate for cooking on, with access to a BBQ outside. The fridge is small but ideal for milk and one or two meals. There are local shops nearby and Fraserburgh is less than 10 minutes drive away where there are takeaways and a large supermarket. There is a microwave, coffee machine, toaster and a kettle and everything you need to cook with. There is a speaker system and the lighting is beautiful indoors with a dimmer switch and a variety of mood lighting. The wet room has a hot, powerful shower and drains quickly. It is very easy to stay organised in this pod. The sofas fold into a very comfortable double bed with plenty of storage underneath. I cannot rate this place high enough. I went for a weekend and came back the following week for three nights. Partly this is due to the people. Susan who rents the place and her mother Isobel made me so welcome and I met a number of warm and friendly faces within my time here. I was up every morning running to the beach at Fraserburgh, or up to Rosehearty (where The Davron Hotel provides excellent lunches and dinners). I spent time alone writing in the pod and found it very cathartic and relaxing. I saw the aurora borealis twice, something I’ve never experienced. There is a telescope in the pod that is great for stargazing. Often there is a misty harr that falls thickly across the horizon and prevents you from taking in the views but in contrast the micro climate here also provided a few hot days where I was able to lie sunbathing and jump into the north sea in the morning (only for the very brave). A great writing retreat, which I look forward to visiting time and time again.

The cutest, most amazing little bolt hole. We have adored our 2 nights of peace in this gorgeous place. Everything here you could need and more. Location is stunning. Spent my time looking at the sea and the wildlife, and not my phone and tablet! Just joyous.

Most incredibly magical and spectacular location.. Fell in love with the historic and gorgeous cottage immediately. This cottage was so warm, welcoming, comfortable and immediately we felt at home. Looking out the lounge room window we were in awe of the beauty it offers. Thank you, we would love to come back here some day.

Got back home today from a wonderful 1 week stay at this little cottage. It’s the perfect place to come back to each day after exploring the Scottish coast. It has everything you need and is truly a home from home. Even if you don’t want to explore, you can spend the day at the cottage in a very tranquil setting. From Susan calling me on my journey there to check I knew where I was going to her mum, Isobel, bringing treats along for my dog, I was made to feel very welcome. I don’t have enough nice things to say I loved it and will definitely be back.
