What a great day for the Pool - and its Friends! Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire, Mrs Carol Kinghorn presented the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service to the Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Swimming Pool. Here some of the committee with the Award and Certificate. More pics later!

Well, look who's the best food experience bar none in the UK! And 31st best food experience in THE WORLD! None other than the Pool's near neighbour and great supporter The Bay Fish and Chips. Well done, Calum and staff and well deserved. Of course, we already know you're the absolute best.. https://www.express.co.uk/…/calum-richa rdson-fish-and-chips…

Due to a problem with one of our pool covers (hopefully temporary), please be aware that the water temperature continues to be very slightly cooler at the moment.

We are running the car boot sale in the Market Square in Stonehaven this Sunday - 19th August. If you are having a clear out why not come along and sell your unwanted items - 9.00 am until 1.00 pm. A pitch will cost you only £10 - (you can set up from 8.00 am). We will also have a merchandise stall where we will be selling all our 'pool' items including our lovely beach towel which is a new item this year. We hope to see you there buying or selling or both!

User

dramatic pic of the pool yesterday - yes it really is fun in the rain - cool when it's hot and fun when it's not!! Thanks to Pool staff for this amazing shot.

We visited on the last day of peak season unitentionally & was thinking it would be jammed but was pleasantly suprised. Plenty of room for everyone.

A fab pool, lovely & warm to the point you didnt really want to get out into the fresh air, although when you did it made getting back in a pleasure.

Changing rooms clean with plenty of lockers. Four lifeguards on duty & they did a good job of keeping an eye on people, whistling when something not abided to which safety wise I was happy to see.

It took us a good 2 hour journey but would happily make the trip again whilst in Scotland. We spent a full afternoon here & had to coax my daughter out in the end!

The only niggle I did have was that it clearly states on the website that no photos to be taken yet I saw at least 3 people whilst there clearly using phones to take pics & videos in clear sight of the lifeguards with nothing being said. Had I missed something?? I would have loved to take a picture of my daughter having fun but made do with a picture outside.

User

We had a great day out here at the weekend.

the food is reasonably priced, there's plenty of places to park up on land and plenty of entertainment for kids after lunchtime with the fun run and all the floats. Great value for money. I've recommended it to everyone!

User

Was there today, weather very overcast but pool lovely and warm , great swimming, really enjoyed it, lovely friendly staff, a must visit again :)

User

Visited yesterday in a party of 3 adults and 8 children, a few of the kids took a while to get used to salt water, but goggles was the way to go. Fab slide and floats kept them amused from 11.30 till nearly 4pm, would highly recommend it to everyone!

User

The the best pool I've ever been to and the only one I want to swim in from now on, salt water and heated, no horrible chlorine and what better than to be out under the sky! A MUST see destination when visiting the north east during the summer months :) x

User

Pleasantly surprised the salt content was lower than last years experience. Entering the car park yesterday my 4 year said "Oh no, not the salty pool" Once in pool she was fine & did not complain about the taste!

User

Nicely warm water, even on a cold day. The slide is good and fast which the kids love. For spectators the ability to get coffee at the side of the pool is great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a well-run and pleasant place to go.

User

I was disappointed that u could not sit in the Splash cafe. Even if it was only open till 11.30 then closed to tidy up. After having a swim it would have been great to sit in, instead of going to the hatch for food.

User

Had the kids up yesterday. .spotlessly clean..staff first class. The cafe is very clean..good food. Very well priced also ....A great day out for the family

User

Great time with the kids. Receptionist was polite and advised us a child we were trying to pay for could actually get in free!!

Kids loved the pool, plenty of float aids available to add to the fun.

Cafe was fabulous. Food was freshly cooked, delicious and reasonably priced. Staff again fantastic.

Would definitely return

User

First visit to pool today and my girls loved it!

User

Brilliant night at the midnight swim, music, chute great fun only thing missing was some pool toys like balls etc but we will know for next year, pool was a bitty cool but still worth a visit where else can u get this in the UK......... Nowhere

User

A real gem in Scotland!

The pool is lovely and warm, the shark slide was a huge hit with my daughter, as was the inflatable course! The lifeguards were very on the ball and present around the pool. The shallow end was a great depth so we could still stand with my youngest. There were floats for everyone to use.

All round an excellent experience - we can't wait for next year.

I'd encourage everyone to give it a go and support a really unique experience in Scotland!

User

1st time visiting and had a wonderful time with my boyfriend, cafe superb too, great home baking and all the staff so friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful live band Sat afternoon and think we were in the pool about 2 hrs ... didn’t want to get out!! ... and the Sun was shining we will be back and telling all my friends in The Highlands to visit

User

Lovely place but the pool isn't warm enough. We went today and on the door it says it's 28degrees. That's not comfortable enough for an outside pool and because of this we cut our visit short. I would happily pay more to enter if it went towards actually heating to pool

User

Had a great day and the kids loved it. Only problem was before we set of on the hour and half journey to get there we checked what was on. It stated fun session which was fine for the age of our children. On getting there it was actually an aqua run for kids 8 and over, which was no use for our kids. Updated web page would b useful

User

Great family day out. We don't care if it is rain, shine or haar. Jam packed with nostalgia, colourful decorations and an olympic size pool. The salt water is a bit like the bottom of a popcorn bucket and not to everyone's taste, but the bouyancy that you get from the salt water makes floating and swimming so easy. Great to see the local support that this institution gets, and long may it continue.

User

Pretty disappointed.. coming from Turriff, a good hours drive we were all looking forward to a family day.. must've spent maybe 20mins in pool max, my youngest still in a life jacket so wasn't allowed on the only Shute .. kids hated the salty water! Maybe more fun if there was a Shute 4 every age? Won't b in a hurry back.

User

Pool was nice but son told not to wear prescription goggles on the slide. We stated he would be more at risk if he went up with out them as he can't see, but they still refused. When we tried to explain we were spoken to rather sharply. Not the best first visit unfortunately
