Strachan Health Fitness Nutrition Description

Strachan Health Fitness Nutrition is a company targeted at promoting health and fitness to groups and individuals who need guidance and motivation. We began in December 2011 and have been building our client base ever since. Both Ania and myself aim to constantly look for new and effective ways to help each individual achieve their goals, whatever they may be. We both have extensive experience within our fields and are both qualified personal trainers. Ania being a doctor of nutrition and I have an honours degree in sports and exercise science.

We currently offer the following services:

Working hours: 5 am until 12 pm

Training programmes: £15 tailored specifically for what you want to achieve

Personal training:
Individual sessions - £35 per hour
joint sessions - £45
Block bookings - £315 for ten individual one-hour sessions (in the Pure Gym or outdoors)
£405 for ten joint sessions


Dietary analysis

7-day diary analysis with printed report and a feedback consultation (30min) - £125
Dietary analysis includes provision of a 7-day food diary. The complete diary is analysed using professional nutritional software and expertise to produce a detailed report. The report on macro- and micronutrient diet composition and diet quality is presented to the client during a 30-minute consultation meeting. Any questions and issues about the client’s current diet and nutritional status are addressed at the consultation.


Dietary advice consultations

Diet design - £150
This is available only after the dietary analysis. Diet design includes two meetings. The first meeting lasts up to an hour and covers professional body composition analysis, basic anthropometric measurements, calculation of resting metabolic rate, lifestyle and health history, nutritional preferences and discussion of client’s individual goals (such as metabolic, health-oriented, aesthetic or sport-performance). The second meeting lasts 30 minutes. During this consultation an in-depth nutritional prescription is presented to the client. This is a specifically designed diet to meet the client’s goals and needs and may include a suggestion of potential supplement use.


Follow-up consultation - £45
This involves professional body composition analysis, basic anthropometric measurements, adjustments to the diet plan according to the client's progress and addressing any potential problems. This consultation takes up to 30 minutes.


Nutrition packages

Dietary analysis + Diet design - £250

Dietary analysis + Diet design + 3 Follow-up consultations - £370


Massage: £40 per hour

We have a qualified sports massage therapist.


We will identify goals for you to work towards, as we often find that people who have a target to train for, tend to do better. If there is a goal or event you wish to train for, one of us will often join you. In 2012 we are looking to do the Inverness marathon with two of our clients and will be offering support along the way.

We checked our blood oxygen levels on Saturday and Sunday with a pulse oximetry Saturday saw me at 84% indicating severe hypoxia at rest. My partner and I have been attending Andy's weekend HIIT sessions for a while now and always enjoy having something sweaty to go to on what would otherwise be a sedate Sunday. Andy is very knowledgeable and passionate about sport and fitness and always has some sporting project on the go. He's approachable and friendly and I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

I’ve been going to Strachan’s short circuit training at the old Tory community centre Sunday. It’s a tough little workout session for about an hour. River help raise money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.



Robert understood that I had lost my hearing and that he took his time while speaking to me. I had no problem lip-reading him face-to-face and what the training would be included. Definitely going back again!

I've just started training with Andy and would highly recommend him. He really knows his stuff and is a great motivator. Andy really focuses on your individual strengths and goals, and has the knowledge and expertise to help you reach them. Although I've always been a fan of the gym I never really pushed myself, but Andy really does that and has given me the kick start I needed to push myself. He's also a lovely guy and training with him is a pleasure. Andy pushes you to get maximum benefit using High Intensity Interval Training techniques, and keeps things interesting by varying the sessions. He's a great guy and we always have a laugh (sometimes it's a choice of laugh or cry!). Andy is alway available to advise on exercise, nutrition, managing and preventing injuries, revealing a wealth of knowledge based on the latest scientific research. Great experiance and always a friendly face shouting encoragement as they gently torture the muscles that have never been used before or correcting the technique (which usually ends up hurting even more in the case of the hollowman) and after the heart rate have came back down and the ability to speak has come back, there is always an answer waiting for any questions you might have. Would recomend it to anyone looking to get fitness back and in shape.

He helped me when I injured my knee, he had me doing power lifting and big complex movements to increase my strength conditioning and help strengthen my knee to start running again. He does like to make you suffer a wee bit as well, so bring your determination!
