We are a family run restaurant which focuses our menu on the finest seafood that is available locally therefore our menu changes often. We do offer other choices too such as chicken, beef, also gluten free and vegetarian option too.

Hello!!!! Our menu special is new season Herring and Tatties- herrings coated in oatmeal and fried served with new potatoes. Just a proper treat for £5.95!!!! Why not add a cup of tea for £1 extra.

Who loves seared scallops? Paired with monkfish? Smothered in chardonnay and Parmesan cream sauce with penne pasta oh my!!!! All local produce (well apart from the Chardonnay - not many vineyards in this locality!!!) and fresh. On our evening menu £17.25. Please give us a phone to book your table as we hate to disappoint, looking forward to seeing you.

Change is good so here’s our smoked haddock and cheddar fish cakes served with chips,side salad and coleslaw or peas all for £9.75. Served on our lunchtime menu this week. Our smoked haddock comes from the oldest salmon fish house in Scotland,Ugie salmon in Peterhead who use local boats to supply their haddock.

I admit I did pinch this idea from another page! As a mum of 3 and grandma to 2 beautiful grandchildren I’m acutely aware of the let’s say inconvenience some mums go through in order to breastfeed their baby so if you are out and about and your little one needs fed then we will welcome you here at The Captain’s Table so you can attend to your baby’s needs. We will throw in a cuppa for you mums - no need to eat just some comfort and peace to get on with what you do best - be mummy! Thank you Patrick McGovern for sharing the post earlier that gave me the idea.

Hello everyone! We have been inundated with messages and comments asking us to post a copy of our menu to facebook, while we appreciate all of the kind words and support we have had we would like to point out because our menu consists of locally sourced ingredients i.e seafood, our dishes are changing on an almost daily basis! This means that not one of the dishes you purchase here at The Captains Table has been Pre-Packed or made in a factory somewhere they are all made in h...ouse! However with this it means we have a smaller menu of 4-5 Starters 5-6 Mains and 4-5 desserts each and everyday. Here at the Captains Table we believe every dish on our menu is a special of the day, and while we respect that this might not be to everyone's liking if you want to try out our restaurant give us a call. Just a final note before I go back to work, There will usually be a Chicken Dish and a Beef dish which will also change to keep along with the theme of fresh, local and personal! Also at the moment we are not doing gift vouchers sorry if this disappoints folks. Where do I start? Firstly the environment at the captains table is very friendly and welcoming, all the staff are helpful and cheerful always checking in to make sure everything is okay and if we needed anything. We didn't have to wait too long for our food and each course was absolutely fantastic! Portion sizes were spot on but to save room for pudding the kitchen was lovely enough to put the rest of my main into a takeaway tub so I can enjoy the rest later as it was far too tasty to waste! The prices are very reasonable and well worth the fresh products that were cooked to perfection! Thank you so much to the Captain's Table staff for providing a top class dining experience, and I can't wait to return for some more delicious food!
Our new favourite place to eat � we was there on Saturday and we couldnt fault a thing. For starters we had langoustine cocktail and scallops, mains we both had fish pie and for desserts we had a cheese board and sticky toffee pudding. Everything tasted great and was the best we had actually tasted. Staff were also very friendly and nothing was too much to ask (bread to wipe clean our fishpie plates �). We cannot wait to return � thanks again xx
Our first visit to the captains table and it was an absolute treat. The langoustine salad was perfect large portion of the freshest langoustines, probably the first time I have been stuffed with a salad. Squeezed in a pudding though � and again it didn’t disappoint, the lemon and lime cheesecake fluffy creamy and zingy again just lovely. My 5 year old son had chicken & chips from kids menu good sized portion really fresh with lovely homemade chips. Staff friendly & attentive, lovely welcoming atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back thank you �
From the first minute we arrived to the last minute, we were made very welcome � the staff are very friendly and entertaining,the steak � was perfect,the cheesecake was light n fluffy oh and the Gins were also delicious � there was 19 of us served in no time at all. Why any one comes out hungry is beyond me. Will definitely be back. Special thanks for singing � happy birthday to Russell 65 and Uncle Billy 63. Even a vegetarian meal for our Kady too.
