Very very busy TechFest this weekend. We saw lots of people over the two days, lots of familiar faces including Fiona Stalker from BBC Radio Scotland. We did a wee interview with her, not sure if anyone here managed to catch that on the radio? It was great chatting with everyone who came over to see us, we hope you too enjoyed meeting the critters & I.
Looking forward to the TechFest Primary week starting tomorrow, we’ve got a few schools coming to visit us throughout the week, so see you then.

I few people asking about events happening with TechFest, here’s their Facebook page. The best place to find out all about the events & dates over the coming weeks 😉 We will be at the Activity weekend this weekend 25th & 26th August at the RGU campus Garthdee.

I’m back from my holidays 👍 it’s been a busy day in the office replying to all the messages & emails. So hopefully I’ve replied to you if you did message & I thank you for your patience.
While away I noticed last week a bit of drama regarding these guys pictured below, hoverflies. With the warm then wet weather these guys have thrived, giving us a higher then normal number of them, which is actually a good thing. I saw a lot of people going a bit OTT & rushing out & buying f...ly spray to get rid of them. They’re not a pest & certainly not stinging bugs like wasps or bees but harmless hoverflies that are excellent pollinators & sadly don’t live very long, their life cycle is very important to the eco system & with people killing them in the adult stage can have a impact on other bugs. In their larvae stage they eat pest bugs like aphids. They’re only trying to mimic wasps & bees to deter predators, so don’t mistake them for wasps. Gardens need bugs like these 👍

Just a reminder, that I’m still on Holiday, but not forgotten about all you wonderful critter fans. I’ve been in constant contact with Chiqa the chihuahua back at critter HQs office & she’s told me I have a lot of messages. I will reply ASAP on my return. See you soon.
PS yes I do actually FaceTime my dog 🐶 What? I miss her lol 😂

It’s been a busy week this week, after our 2 days at Aden we had visits through the week. A party in Banff & a return visit to St Modans Care home. Inchgarth community centre youth Club, schools out club in Westhill & 2 sessions at Cherry Tree Pre school. Today we had 3 birthday parties, Brooke in Tarves, Felix in Lyne of Skene & Archie in Blackburn. We hope everyone enjoyed meeting the critters.
The animals are all in their beds, fed & watered with a few extra treats they’ve been super busy over the summer period & now have a 2 week break to enjoy. I’m also away on my holidays too so will reply to any messages emails etc when I return on the 13th of August. Thanks everyone 👋✈️😎☀️👍

Well that’s another Wild About Aden finished for the year & what a cracking two days we got for it ☀️👍 We hope those that came along to see us enjoyed the shows. Smaug the iguana deservedly got the chance to do some weeding for me, Thanks Smaug for eating the dandelion leaves for me 🦎👍 maybe I should start advertising my own Critter gardening services, he’s rubbish at mowing the lawn, but weeding spot on 😂

I think we covered pretty much the whole of the North East today. This morning we traveled up to Buckie to see the holiday camp at Buckie Academy. Then it was off down to Stonehaven for the holiday camp at Stonehaven leisure centre. We then went home to Bridge of Don to collect Rocket the Raccoon to travel back up to Peterhead for Blake’s 6th Birthday party. Thanks ever so much everyone for having us along today. We hope you all enjoyed the visits. It came up on my Facebook feed that it’s exactly 3 years to the day Rocket the Raccoon came into my life. He decided to give me a wee kiss to celebrate the day & remind me how awesome he is. Makes a change for him trying to rip my face off lol 😂🗑🐼❤️👍
