Scouts have been doing their communicator badge this week, cubs are having a teamwork games night and beavers made a start on the gardener's badge. We also invest 4 new beavers.

We have had a good week with scouts doing the communicator badge , beavers made a super hero and had to get them from a to b in a mode of transport with gadgets and the cubs had a team quiz.

Our beavers ,cubs and scouts have made the mario carts for operation goodwill which took place today. The weather was not as bad as we thought it would be and the rain held off until we had all finished. All had a good time and lots of food given for the homeless.

Our beavers, cubs and scouts making mario carts in preparation for operation goodwill. I will try and get some photos on here this week.

Our beavers cubs and scouts have been very busy working on badges and I do apologise for the lack of photos but due to GDPR I can only put photos on with no faces showing. It is really difficult to do. but I will try to do some. We need more beavers as we have just sent a lot of 8 year olds to cubs so we have space for at least 8 new ones and we need both boys and girls between 5 yrs and 9 months and 7 years old. You can contact me through messenger if your child is interested.

All 3 sections started back this week and were are doing a lot of badge work. We still have a couple of spare places in beavers. Beavers are aged between 6 and 8 years old.

User

Just to let any new beaver parents know that we are not back until the 17th January as we are having some new heating and electrics in and the leaders have not had time to do the programme planning yet so that is boing done next week.

A well earned break now after a very busy year. The highlight has to be the Christmas tea we put on at the Brant Road. Enjoyed by the people who attended and the young people who were amazing. They did a grand job. We have also been busy as the young people made all the presents they gave to the people on the day. We have been camping, canoeing, done activity days, started work on the memorial garden which will be continued once the weather improves again. All 3 sections have... done some fantastic things they would not normally do. The leaders and helpers are vital to make sure this all happens and they put an immense amount of work in to make sure that this can all be achieved. Unfortunately due to GDPR I can only put photos on here that do not show the young people close up, hence the lack of them, sorry for that. We do have space in the beaver section again so if you have a child between the ages of 5 years and 9 months and 8 they can join beavers. If interested please message me. A very happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year to all of you who do follow us on this page. Mary GSL

A very successful day today. Our group hosting Christmas tea for elderly people on Brant Road. The young people did us proud and thank you to everyone who help. From parents who made or donated cakes, the leaders and helpers for all their efforts and the young people who turned up to help and entertain the people there. Well done to all. One very proud group scout leader.

Today we are hosting a Christmas tea for the over 50's. A lot of hard work has been done by all the leaders and young people who have made presents, made sweets and cakes for the guests who are coming. Really proud of them all and the leaders who have given up their own time to do scouting. We hope the guests who come today enjoy their Christmas tea.

The 2 wreaths we took to All Saints Church on Brant Road this morning. We walked there from the shops and I was so so proud of all the beavers, cubs , scouts and leaders who turned up. The young people were all so well behaved.

Then of course Christmas is not far away and we are making presents for an event we are doing in December.

Sorry it has been a bit quiet here but we have been really busy. The beavers have had a district pirate day where they had a lot of fun despite the cold, rainy day. The cubs had a one night camp at Sudbrooke last weekend and the weather was lovely. This week the cubs have a district pumpkin party. In a couple of weeks they have an activity day at Walesby. Then we have our remembrance Day service on the 12th November. A few photos attached.

User

Beavers went out tonight for 5 minutes to gather natural materials to make people with.

To anyone who is local to our scout hut please be aware this coming Friday 5th October we are burning a lot of rubbish between 3 and 4 o'clock. The fire brigade know what we are doing as we informed them. We have been busy doing science experiments with the cubs, tie dying with the beavers and the memorial project is still an ongoing project. Beavers are at Sudbrooke this Saturday for a pirate day full of all sorts of activities. The cubs are camping in 2 weeks time so we are busy. As I mentioned before sorry for the lack of photos but due to GDPR I can only post back views on here. Shame really as not my normal thing as I like to do the young people in action.

User

Sorry no photos this week. We are nearly full again which is good news and this week we did problem solving games and getting to know each other.

My little boy absolutely loves going and he always looks forward to it! Great volunteers!
