Congratulations to 30 Sig Regt’s Alpine Skiing team on completing the Corps’ 4 week training and racing camp. Two individuals from the Regiment team were selected to represent the Corps team and have been asked to compete in the Divisional events.
FofS Ross (250) as OIC is looking for people to compete next year. No experience required just a good fitness level and Sqn approval.
A big well down to Sig Alex Hill (244) who had never skied before and finished in top half of 100 racers. He even did a run in fancy dress, Enjoy the photos.
It is not always log runs at 30!
As part of the Regiment’s Christmas celebrations, the annual ‘Bone of Contention’ rugby match took place today, which saw Junior Ranks face off against Seniors and Officers. After a hard and fair contest the Junior Ranks team came away with a narrow victory. Well done to all those involved!

This week members of the Regiment have been conducting a battlefield study in Norway called Exercise NORDIC SWAN.
This was to compare and contrast battlefield tactics of WW2 and those of modern warfare doctrine by studying the ground where these events actually occurred.
They also paid tribute to those that lost their lives in the Norwegian campaign and laid wreaths of remembrance in their honour.
A really inspiring story from a member of the Royal Signals family Dot Perkins, Captain of the U.K. team in the Invictus Games.

Let’s get behind our very own Ambassador from the Royal Signals Dot Perkins and his team over in Aus. True legend.
Also, Kathleen Ryan, AKA The Cake Lady. Who some of us met in Stafford. Amazing lady showing a true act of kindness and respect.
... Whilst injured troops regurgitated liquid fat trying to regain weight, she reshaped their recovery by baking cakes out of her own pension.
So glad The Globetrotters engine room could make a small donation to support her cake baking for the competitors over in Aus.

The Regiment’s Medical team held a fantastic coffee and health education morning in support of Macmillan Nurses.
Some great demos from our talented medics on the use of a defibrillator and blood pressure checks.
