We want more Gin! Do you know of a great Gin brand or work for a brand of Gin?
Pop the name of the Gin below or DM us a message about the Gin and we might just add it to our shelves.

We are having bank holiday blues.
The cure is a Gin and Tonic. A large Gin and Tonic. The biggest Gin and Tonic.
Or coming to us and making your own Gin (whilst drinking a Gin and Tonic).

The sun is shining and it’s perfect #Gin drinking weather! Lots of people think #SloeGin is just for winter but we strongly disagree! @chase_distillery Sloe and Mulberry Gin is delicious all year round! We are drinking it with @fevertreemixers lemonade, fresh strawberries and mint leaves!
Available in our Gin Shop.

Have you tried @neatgin made by Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale from eastenders). A truly exceptional Gin that we like to pair with cucumber, fresh mint and @fevertreemixers light tonic.

What a unique and fantastic way to spend an afternoon, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The building in itself is an experience, originally one of Leicester's oldest retail shops it has been carefully turned into something very quirky, without losing any of its charm. The staff were tremendous, friendly, kind and helpful, they clearly enjoyed their jobs and had an anbundance of knowledge.

My experience was a gift from my daughter, I was advised that I could, if I wished, take some ingredients from my garden, I choose to take orange blossom. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and given a Burlieghs gin and tonic, we were able and chat with the staff and have a look around before a talk from Ed the Head distiller.

We then moved down to the exciting part, the stills! Oh and another different Burleigh's gin, Ed then took us through the whole process of how gin is made, I knew nothing prior to this but it really was interesting, particularly finding out about Messy Bessy!! and I'm not telling you, you will have to find out for yourself.

Then it was the time to check out the botanicals or ingredients to those of us new to it, a large a varied selection of dried herbs and spices, berries, dried petals and flowers, including fresh and dried fruit.

And this is where it got very interesting so much to pick from...

I chose fresh citrus peel, flowers and few other bits besides.

After getting the cooking on the go (probably the wrong description) we were treated to a cocktail master class, with the added fun of drinking the results, which were delicious.

Then back down to see how things are coming along, and the first taste of our very own gin! This is the bit where it's changing in flavour as it distills. Finally we bottle it, to our chosen taste and strength.

No one wants to go home now, everyone is chatting about what they will put in their next gin on their next visit...

Thank you all, particularly Ed and Molly you made the day truly memorable.

My only complaint, I can't buy Burleighs gin where I live, so I will have to wait until my next visit to Leicester. That is unless you are going to start selling in Spain??

User

What a great way to spend a few hours. Whether your a Gin expert or a complete beginner you will totally enjoy this experience. A warm welcome by some great hosts. Some science and nerdy stuff starts off the day with a great insight into a thriving business. I learned a lot and tasted and smelt more botanicals than I ever knew existed. I will be back but this time with some like minded friends. Top inclusive experience!

User

What a fab experience, perfect for any gin lover. Spent the morning learning the art of how Burleighs gin is made and then making my own bottle whilst sampling a large gin or two was lovely choosing the flavours for my own gin but having the experience of Tom to check my ingredients were just right. Some of my choices were orange, ginger, cinnamon, rhubarb and apparently far too many cloves! Highly recommend this experience, perfect gift for anyone who likes their gin

User

The perfect gift! We bought the shared experience for a friends 30th and also for us. The four of us had a great time. The mixture of finding out and learning about the process, to then hand making of our own gin was perfect. The staff were really knowledgable and gave great advice when picking our botanicals for our own gin... which tastes amazing! Definitely recommend this experience!

User

The gin I made at 45 gin school is fantastic !

Even though I have three bottles of other top quality gin in my house the Taj Mahal gin (as I’ve names it) is by far my favourite even my husband loves it and yes it’s CURRY GIN

User

Thank you so much to Heidi and the team for putting on such a wonderful event and being so helpful before and on the day. We all had a fantastic time and got to make and try some great gins and gin cocktails. Can’t wait until my next visit x

User

Really enjoyable day, Vanessa was great at welcoming us to the day and then left us in the very capable hands of Tom who is very knowledgeable on all things gin. Great fun to make our own gin and we got to sample lots of lovely Burleigh's gin throughout the day, we will definitely be going back!

User

Me and my partner were bought this experience for our birthdays. We had a fab time at the Gin school, lovely location on a farm, very informative about the gin making process and then the best bit, we got to make our own Gin whilst drinking Burleigh Gin and Tonic! Highly recommend!

User

Loved it !!! wow what an amazing afternoon a must for all Gin lovers . Vanessa and Tom made us all very welcome. A very relaxed and enjoyable experience. Then to come away with a bottle of gin you have distilled at 48.3% well what more is there to say we will be back amazing thank you 👍👍👍

User

It was a fabulous experience. Tom and Vanessa were great hosts, very natural and not arrogant (which is what we have experienced before) but so, so knowledgeable about everything ‘gin’. I know I came away with so much knowledge and realised I hadn’t really got a clue! We met lovely people who were all looking to learn and the fact that it was a small group was wonderful. I would really recommend this as a gift for someone or even a hen or stag ‘something different ‘. Thanks all, we are saving our bottle for my birthday in September - should be amazing by then at 46% proof!

User

Had a wonderful Gin experience yesterday, hosted by the insightful & charismatic Tom. I went as a 'plus 1' with my father-in-law & had a great time - I kept up with the sciency stuff, loved blending herbs/spices etc to distill 'our' own Gin and thoroughly appreciated the g&ts whilst working 😊 Would recommend Gin School to everyone. Thanks Tom (not Tim!) for a truly marvellous couple of hours.

User

Had a fantastic afternoon tasting and making gin, Jen and Ben really know their stuff and made it look easy, Lucy behind the bar is really entertaining , keep those cocktails coming

User

Had a amazing time at the distillery. Staff were so friendly and very informative. We went to the farm where the gin is produced which was an eye opener. Seeing the actual still where every bottle of Burleighs is made and bottled by hand. Can't wait until next time to visit the school in town. Already have my flavour combination sorted for my next bottle of Gin.

User

Great experience, and very friendly. No matter how shy you are I defy you not to start chatting with the others on the course as you taste each others recipes. The staff are knowledgeable and generous. Definitely an experience to try. Great fun - and your finished product will be the gift that keeps on giving, unless it is so delicious (always a possibility) that you and your friends drink it in one night

User

Fabulous day. Would certainly recommend. Tom was so knowledgable and answered all our questions Vanessa looked after us well with our refreshments of coffee and gin She also helped with amounts of botanicals for our gin recipe, which tasted amazing

User

As a present from the better half, I have to admit I was a little excited at crafting my own gin. The day was set when Vanessa asked if we needed a taxi to get home whilst making us a cup of tea on our arrival. The tone was set for the day! The knowledge that Tom imparted upon us was fantastic, and his watchfulness whilst we dabbled in his craft was second to none. And whilst we awaited our bottles to fill, it was rude not to partake in a gin and tonic or two whilst there. An absolutely fantastic day out, especially going home with three more bottles of gin. Thank you ever so much. We will be back!

User

An absolutely fantastic experience for all lovers of gin!

A great blend of theory and practical learnings! You really get to grips with how Burleighs is made and how to the gin is definitely a labour of love. Tom was a great host, explaining everything you could ever want to know about gin. The tour was great and then to put it all into practise under the expert guidance of Tom, creating your very own unique gin was a great way to end the day!

Tom may regret saying I can come back and watch a them on a brew day! 😊. Fantastic day

User

Absolutely fabulous time.

Great fun both understanding the process better but also distilling your own recipe.

Really want to go back and try different recipes.

People there were all really helpful and pleasant.

I'd recommend to all ginofiles.

User

Absolutely amazing experience! Tom and Molly were so friendly and we learnt so much! The gin school was so much fun and we absolutely loved choosing our ingredients and deciding on quantities to make our own perfect bespoke gin! (While being bought glass after glass of gorgeous Burleigh's! ) Great present for that gin lover! Very highly recommended!
