A Barkerz Dozen Description
Here at A Barkerz Dozen pets really do come first.
With many years of animal experience under my belt I feel that I have a good knowledge of what animals want and need.
As a mummy to a (very spoilt) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel I have always been concerned about what goes in to what he is being fed. Starting with a few basic recipes for treats and making my own dog food, I soon gained a reputation amongst family and friends for being the go to girl for yummy treats for their dogs too.
After a friend mentioned how it was easy to get homemade dog treats but no one seemed to cater for feline friends, I soon branched off into kitty treat experimentation.
Loving doing what I was doing so much I decided that I wanted to know more about Dog & Cat nutrition and dispel some of the myths, so a Diploma later I was armed with as much knowledge as possible to continue and start to cater for some of our fur-babies that require special diets.
All recipes are tried and tested by my resident tester, Harrington, he even enjoys some of the kitty treats, but I have several kitty testers who line up to double check.
The accessory part came about quite by chance, after accumulating several bandanas for Harrington I realised I could make my own, a quick refresh of my sewing skills later and he was soon sporting a wardrobe bigger than mine! After some compliments on his fashion sense and questions of where I had purchased the bandanas my skill set soon expanded to cover doggy accessories.
I now look forwards to the next part of my adventure, bringing my passion to a wider audience.
All treats are freshly made to order and made with no salt, sugar, additives or preservatives.
If your pet has a particular allergy feel free to get in touch and we'll see what we can do, no pet gets left out!
For birthday's for your pampered pet we can offer cakes, treat baskets, party hampers and a special surprise!

Today & Sunday we are attending the Armed Forces Day Weekend at the National Memorial Arboretum. We’re there 9am-5pm both days in the food and gift marquee.
There is a full programme of fun, family activities as well as aircraft flypasts.
... There is a special dog walking route, but there are certain areas dogs aren’t permitted.

Dogs Unleashed - Bakewell Showground, Harrington & I are here both days 10am-5pm - it’s the UltiMutt doggy day out with lots of demonstrations. Have a go events, stalls to browse and swimming area for dogs. £6.50 for adults.
... Shipley Country Park Food & Drink & Big Bubble Festival - Shipley Country Park, Heanor, Jackie & Kerrie ate here both days 10.30am - 4.30pm - lots of food and gift stalls and the bubble festival for the kids. Dogs are welcome and entry is free.

We visited your stalls at elvaston castle and heanor festival yesterday. Bought some dried chicken strips and a selection of treats, not really expecting our little Bella to like them, as she's such a fussy eater. Very happy to say we were wrong! She has eaten everything! Her favourites were the lamb n mint bone biscuit, the chicken strips and the mini muffin. We will definitely be visiting your shop to stock up � lovely people with fantastic produce xx
We purchased a pick and mix selection of biscuits as well as a doggy brownie from your stall at Shipley Park food and drink fayre yesterday. Both of our doggies have loved each one they have tried so far (we still have some left but im confident they will love them all). Our little rescue dog who has only been with us for a week seemed not to know quite what to make of the doggy brownie at first (i wonder if perhaps she had never had doggy chocolate or a cake type treat before) but once she saw our other dog woofing hers down she made sure to finish every last bite. I think she is a chocolate convert lol. Such lovely ladies on the stall too. Thank you, happy customers. x
Pasha my cat was given a beautiful bandana to 'catwalk' for A Barkerz Dozen. It was beautifully made with a fantastic Velcro fastening as he is a big cat - he wore it well and know he would look good in a tie too! Have a look for your fur baby. These would be good for any occasion. I'm looking forward to getting our order of kitty treats as I know he will LOVE them!

My cat has had the Kitty Salmon Crackers and has really enjoyed them despite being a picky puss! They looked wholesome and smelled really good too! Look forward to trying out the other cat products.

Just nipped in with my staffy cross fudge to spoil her. There was so much to choose from so we brought a mixed bag. Fudge has enjoyed one of her treats so far and I'm sure we will be back for more. Thank u x
Bought a little tie for my baby. He proudly wore it all day and didn't want to take it off at the end. :)
