What would you imagine if I mentioned a cafe in Grimsby Top Town Market?

Yes, I thought so!

You'd be wrong!

True, you will find the all day breakfast and the doorstep sandwiches – but the coffee is real and the tea is from Teapigs.

We tried the vegetarian wrap...

... and the eggs Catalan...

...and went back for the eggs Benedict...

... and the home-made beefburger...

...and the beef bourguignon...

So why the name? Well (for those who are not Grimbarians) the entry in the Domesday Book reads β€œ200 souls, a priest, a mill and a ferry”.

User

Paul and his team serve the most delicious food. Excellent choices on his menu, all fresh produce sourced from the Top Town market, beautifully served and great value too.

User

Only been a couple of times but the staff have been incredibly accomodating and welcoming every time. The food is gorgeous and definately value for money.

The sweet potato jackets are devine!

Never eaten a meal on the market before but our usual eating place was full and my Mum needed a sit down so in we went and im so glad we did.

My Mum had a cheese omelette with potato wedges and salad, my daughter had the traditional cooked breakfast and l ordered the pulled chicken and chorizo salad. After around half an hour during which time we were served a lovely pot of proper tea in a proper pot our food arrived.

Mums and Daughters were piping hot and looked delicious and my salad was absolutely gorgeous.

I had to go to the owner and congratulate him on his lovely food. In my opinion it's restaurant quality. I will recommend your lovely food to all my friends.

User

Mine and girls (13 and 15) favourite place to eat, consistently 5* food and service. A jewel in Grimsbys cafe culture.

User

User

I'm no food critic, but I do know food. I love it; and when I say this hidden gem on Grimsby Top Town Market produces the best food I have ever eaten it is no small testament.

We'll start with the food because that's the most important bit of going somewhere to eat:- 5 quality, 5 presentation and 5for just greatly produced, superb and amazing meals and sandwiches etc.

Staff:- Friendly, Helpful, Patient, Service with a Smile and Amazing Customer Service.

Service:- Absolutely superb, the meals are all freshly prepared that day and the only time you find yourself waiting is when you have followed a group load of people in and they have all ordered as well, which speaks for itself; if you're waiting for a quality meal because of the volume of people already being served then you know they're doing something right. The wait is minimal and the staff are always coming and keeping you appraised of how long your food will be, and asking if there's anything they can get for you in the mean time.

Pricing:- Everything is fairly priced. If you were to order a meal such as the likes you get from here at local restaurants and pubs you would be paying at least double what you pay at A Priest a Mill and a Ferry. If you ate this in London or any other major city you'd be paying triple and you'd accept it.

The specials don't usually rise much above your child's pocket money for a week and they are of such a high standard they are well worth a lot more.

If you haven't been yet, get your ass down and pay em a visit. You will not be let down and you will come back again.
