Following a series of safety talks by local police officers last week, can we please remind students to be vigilant when travelling to and from TAG.
As always, we would advise you to notify people of your whereabouts, travel in pairs or groups and plan your route.
If you have concerns about personal safety, contact our Intensive Support Team.

Yesterday at GI we welcomed 180 Hull, Humberside Police and the RICH Foundation who spoke to learners about their Anti-Knife Crime Campaign.
Mo Timbo and members of 180 Hull put on a live performance, along with an informative talk from Humberside Police PCSO Richard Whelan.
A great presentation on a very important issue. Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to our guests.

First batch of letters confirming a place for next year should have arrived. Big batch being prepared today.....

Best of luck to former student Ria Stansfield, a finalist in Miss England Miss Great Grimsby & District competition.
Ria, who now studies at Career 6 after leaving TAG last year, is raising money for The Health Tree Foundation and Beauty with a Purpose.
She missed around three months of learning before her GCSEs due to scotopic sensitivity and non-epileptic seizures, but had a “huge amount” of additional support from staff.
... “I’ve always struggled with exams but everyone at TAG was so nice,” she added. “At my old school people laughed at me and told me off when I had a seizure, but here they really cared.”
Ria, who hopes to work in the pharmaceutical industry, continued: “I chose Career 6 because TAG liaised with them to make sure the additional support would continue.
“I hope to work at St Andrew’s Hospice or Sheffield Children’s Hospital because I can’t feel emotion, so wouldn’t be affected by the things I might see or take it home with me.”

TAG Friday!

Yesterday in health and social care was a fab day. We had a debate and court proceedings with regards to euthanasia, linked to real stories, law, personal view. The students were great and really got into character staff as ‘special witnesses’.
