Kathak Dance classes

Adaa stands for 'Charm, Beauty, Grace and Style'. Adaa or Aarti's Dance and Arts Academy aims to bring you Kathak dance in its purest form.

Kathak is a North Indian Classical Dance style, which originated in the the temples of India. It was then performed in the grand palaces of the Mughal Rulers and is now popular in public theatres around the world.

Adaa will bring you dance classes in Kathak following the Nahid Siddiqui Technique, where students will be learning and developing techniques that have been thoroughly researched and perfected by world renowned Kathak dancer Nahid Siddiqui.

The classes will be taught 1 hour per week. Adaa will also give students the opportunity to perform what they have learnt in Kathak during the year.

All the classes will be taught by Kathak dancer and teacher Aarti Lodhia. Aarti started learning Kathak at the age of 6 from Kumar Sashwat and later from National Award Winner Aakash Odedra, as well as training in India with Kumudini Lakhia and Sanjukta Sinha. Aarti is now working under exclaimed Kathak master Nahid Siddiqui. Aarti has performed in many venues both nationally and internationally including; Darpana Ahmedabad with Kadamb; Duet with Aakash Odedra in De Montfort Hall, Leicester, solo performance in MAC Birmingham and in 'Maati', with Nahid Siddiqui. She has also choreographed Kathak pieces for many dance projects.

Timetable of Classes:

Mondays:
Intermediate: 6 - 7. 30pm
Adult Classes: 7. 30 - 8. 30pm

All classes will be held at 34 Belgrave Road, Leicester, LE4 5AS.
