Andrees Apiary

Well it seems ages since we wrote on our page. Been a good season bees all put too bed. Moved some to a new site hopefully be good although had lots of wasps. Will have to decide how we can deal with them next year we had very few at our main site. Honey is selling well we have a few nucs of bees so hopefully the weather will be kind too them we have a couple of special to us a.m.m queen's the old English dark bee all doing well. Happy Christmas too everyone !!!

We are never short of work. Just got permission for a new apiary near Lincoln been busy clearing the site. Pictures show before and now. Bees will be moved there very shortly.

Well we have had a busy few days. Last weekend our bee society had a stand at heckington show . We went helped set up and worked on the stand . WE had various bee items including a glass observation hive and lots other bee related things . Pleased to report Sleaford bee keepers won the silver award for our display . In the honey show Andrees apiary won a first and third for our honey .

We are pleased to confirm that lakeside butchers at whisby garden centre are stocking our delicous honey and even more pleased it's selling well . So top ,class meat and honey too

Starting tidying on one of our sites . Had a mad few minutes with a petrol strimmer the things we do .

Split some hives yesterday with some new queens. Took 8 supers of honey off. My job today extracting. Started bottling but enough is enough for today.

Did some hive inspections and manage to mark 2 Queens first time

Another swarm collected . Will return tonight to remove the box, we leave the box there so the stragglers out flying all return .

Entered our county honey show. Pleased we won third place with our honey competing with the best in Lincolnshire . Our district Sleaford won the chairman's cup for most points in the Show.

Last of the early honey extracted last night. Always amazes us how the colour changes depending on what the girls are foraging .
