Great news, our play area will be open this weekend. Previously we had been told the play area would be closed over the weekend while repairs took place, but the contractors have secured these areas so that it can remain open.
Please be aware our children's play area and Rose Garden will be both be closed until Monday while repairs take place. The Play area is having the trampoline and surrounding surfacing repaired and the Slabs are being reset in the Rose Garden, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We have had sightings of ducklings already on the pond so keep an eye out for them next time you're visiting! With that in mind please make sure all dogs are under control around the pond area, we don't want to disturb our new wildlife! We will also be adding lots of barley straw to the pond this week so help reduce algae, so don't worry if you see some giant yellow sausages floating around!
We have some free craft sessions this Easter at Arnot Hill Park and Burton Road Jubilee Park, so bring your young ones along to get stuck in painting and colouring!
On Monday 11 March, we will be flying the Commonwealth Flag as part of a national day of celebrations. Join us at the civic centre at 9.50am to see the flag raised. More information here http://socsi.in/e9Gkj

Changes are coming to our Rose Garden at Arnot Hill Park this weekend. We’re removing the old roses and digging pits to plant new flowers. The garden will be a little bare for a few weeks before we replant, but will look much better afterwards. Volunteers are welcome to join our Park Rangers to replant the garden on Saturday 9 March, more information to follow.
This half term why not come along to Arnot Hill Park on the 18th of February and have a go at making a bird box to take home? Each box costs £5 and all materials and tools will be provided. Meet us at 11am in the Bowls Pavilion.
Bit of a cold start today but made for some beautiful scenes at Arnot Hill Park this morning
A set of house keys have been found today in the Bowling Green car park. If you believe they are yours, please call to discuss on 0115 901 3666 or speak to our reception staff.

We've installed water fountains in Arnot Hill Park and at Gedling Country Park as part of a commitment to be a plastic clever council. You can now refill your bottles and reduce the amount of single use plastic bottles you use when you visit the two parks #plasticclever
We still have spaces available for our Willow Weaving Workshop this Thursday at Arnot Hill Park Bowls Pavilion, more information on our events page 👉 www.gedling.gov.uk/…/event/christmas-wi llow-weaving-worksho…
Come and work with willow artist Chaz Friend of Wayside Willow to make a selection of small willow Christmas decorations. Take a break from the busy Christmas build up and spend some fun and relaxing time learning a new skill. You can take away everything you make during the sessions.
There are two sessions available, 10am-12pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm.
Places are limited for these sessions and booking is required. Sessions cost £15 per person.
We're really sorry but due to the bad weather we've had to cancel this event ⛈️ We'll update you if we reschedule for another day.
wonderful event to see some "live" music in a great park, and its free
Well what a great little cafe, serving hot and cold food,a selection of fresh ground coffee, ice cream,in fact just about everything, very nice staff to.
We visit the park most days of the week, beautiful place to wander round taking in the beauty of the wild life. Very peaceful and scenic :-)
Very good for children. Been coming here since my two were little. Carnival was a bit pricey but fun was had by all.
This continues to be such a wonderful local facility with so much to offer people of all ages. Good to see how many people use the park on a regular basis. Like the latest carving on the island.
Such a beautiful park to visit. Great for young and old alike, has a lovely cafe with great views of the lake. It's a little Oasis in the middle of Arnold.
Rearly nice place the kids love it . Could be bigger bins though and someone to empty them over the weekend.
Lovely park ,nicely kept, pond, childrens playpark , skateboarding park , cafe with seating , war memorial , very nice to have a picnic well worth a visit
Loved this place as a child! My grandparents used to take us here a lot. There used to be an aviary, peacocks and wooden fort things on a field. It was amazing and have so many fond memories of this place. Would love to drop by and see him much it's changed.
I spent much of my childhood on this beautifully kept park. I then spent many hours there with my twin boys. Also many hours there with my elderly now deceased father - where he was happy to be whilst coping with Alzheimer's - he knew it so well. It still a fantastic park. I recommend it highly to anyone. Beautiful park with lots of space. Free to park after 3pm and free for up to two hours at any time - get a free ticket from the machine. I go several times a week from work. Love the water birds and pigeons and there is a lot of art hidden around too.
Always an enjoyable place and I usually visit daily for a spot of exercise. The refreshment stand is a great place to relax by the pond whilst my son feeds the wild ducks and birds.
A wonderful venue to be married, the Registrars are fantastic and make your day so very special!! X
One of my favorite parks in Nottingham to have a walk with my baby. Cant give 5 stars because the cafe wont allow prams inside even when its empty and it is raining outside :(
Great event weekend for the Arnold Carnival. Lovely to see so many people there enjoying the activities.
Shame the cafe wasn't allowed to open at the side of the lake during the Carnival.
More bins needed - always overflowing at the weekend. Otherwise very well kept.
Great atmosphere. Great to see so many people attending. Echo some of the others not enough bins. But otherwise great weekend
Coffee shop has no card payment facilities, take cash with you if kids want ice cream or you fancy coffee.
Arnot hill park is a lovely park it has a good selection of wildlife, a fantastic cafe, such a shame it is let down by having no weekend staff on the park to clear up the litter, the bins are over flowing and litter everywhere.
The park is ok.... for little 1 but need to bring the slide bj that u lot took aaway? And most the tarmat need redoing! On park as well
