Loving the re-designed website but I can hardly get any photo's on it. Do I need to change my settings or aren't there many on? Many thanks

User

Love this auction house and we travel 5 hours in each direction monthly to visit. Staff are fab couldn't be more helpful. We have been to most auction houses in the uk and as with all you need to view carefully. However i have found them more than accommodating when there have been any issues and always try to find a resolution!! 100% recommend great fun day out

It was my First time to the auction rooms and in room 6 (freezing is an understatement) wrap up if you go but the chap running things was lovely and we all had a few laughs along the way....Purchased £237 (£184 minus the buying premium of 22%)worth of goods that retailed at £637 will definitely be back...give it a go as I'm sure you will not be dissapointed....thanks all xxx

I had an awesome time this weekend at the auction! Everyone is so lovely at the auction and I got some great furniture pieces at an amazing price! Thank you so much! I’ll be back soon! Never going back to buying furniture at IKEA or high street shops again!

User

Frequented this place over many years, as a child with family, now as an adult with family and a business. Fantastic! Much love and respect for Jason and all the team, front and back of house 👌👌👌

As a stallholder at this weekend’s Christmas Market, I can't help feeling that this was not the right venue for a Christmas Market. The punters were there for the auctions and some were visibly annoyed at having to negotiate the stalls to get to them. Few of us made money. We made a substantial loss but as the event was for a worthy cause we felt that we'd made a sizable donation to Emmanuel House. Other than Facebook, the event didn’t seem to have been advertised locally, or if it did, I didn't see it, which would indicate that it was not prominent enough. As for it being a 2 day Market, the only people that came in on the Friday, were the ones viewing for the next day's auction and were few and far between. We took £2.

However, there was a great sense of camaraderie amongst the stall holders and we met some wonderful people, some that helped us newbies enormously (Martin Clarkson at Station Oak particularly). Sorry this sounds like a whinge 'cos I didn't sell much and I know the Market has been there long before I came along with my gripes and I'm not sure what can be done to improve it for the stall holder but I had to have my say. Staff in the cafe were fantastic as we’re the sausage rolls and pasties!

Some things I have purchased and then changed mind don't want so put back through at later date. It's strange things I buy as single item and pay fair price for. I put them back through and they are put through as job lot usually end up with virtually nothing. I think this auction is favoured for dealers. Also been to collect items and the staff are terrible. I ask for a little help with heavy item and get sheared at. This happened just yesterday asked for some help and the guy said oh but my shoulders are hurting my response oh I have metal in my spine. Can't lift. He could at least have asked someone else if he has problem. I have yet to meet a bigger bunch of grumpy people.

Buyers Beware, you will pay 22% on top of the hammer price and sometimes 42% if the item has VAT,

Clearly the most expensive auction in the country.

This i feel is reflecting in the lack of items being put up for sale by the vendors because people are aware of this rediculous commission so its reflecting the hammer price, Arthur Johnson need to be more realistic on there commision rates and stop being greedy as most auction houses in the country are 15%
