A frosty morning at Ascott ❄️ Our gardeners are all very busy at the moment planting 18,000 daffodil bulbs by hand ready for reopening in March! Once they have finished they will be moving on to the tulips! 🌼🌷

User

What an absolute gem. Lovely house and surprises round every corner in the gardens.

User

We spent a lovely afternoon at Ascott House and gardens. The house was beautiful and set up really informally, the way the National Trust had set things up. It didn't feel like a museum at all. Everything was on show and nothing roped off. A very cosy lived in atmosphere. The gardens where simply stunning - even on a cloudy drizzly day. I don't know who looks after the lawns, but it's some of the best kept grass I've seen. The sandwiches in the tearoom we had were also very good. Thoroughly recommended.

User

Such a beautiful place: the park, gardens and the house. The cafe was clean with very friendly staff, all working with patience and humour, despite the busy period. The food was lovely and fresh. Every member of staff and all volunteers from the entrance kiosk, the cafe, and through to the house and gardens were charming, polite and well-informed. We weren't told off either when we were a few minutes late for our tour slot! We will visit again, most definitely; this time with a sketch pad. Well done all at Ascott House.

User

Stunning house with fine paintings. Great artwork collection. Beautiful gardens and ponds. Friendly staff.

User

Lovely way to spend a few hours - gardens are splendid and the house is magnificent. The exit is ackward and difficult, the road exiting onto is busy and finding a gap in the traffic to pull out takes some time

User

Lovely tea and scones, amazing grounds, great afternoon.

User

Lovely place to visit for anybody who will appreciate stunning views and gardens. I am impressed how much work must to be done to keep it in such awesome condition. Mine and my son's hearts was steeled by horses

User

I have been lots of national trust properties in the country. This is the one I called a little gem 💎. I glad my friend who took me there.

User

I have been 3 times this year and absolutely love it. The cream tea is fab. The gardens stunning and the house so interesting.

User

First visit today, definitely not the last! Beautiful house and grounds. Lovely tea room. Everyone friendly and welcoming. Such a peaceful place to sit and relax and take in the stunning views.

User

Beautiful gardens, something different round each corner of the garden. Some lovely paintings and furniture in the house. Good coffee and cakes. Worth a visit in spring for the tulips and magnolias, look forward to visiting again in June to see what's in flower then.

User

Ascott is my favourite National Trust property ever......always some new treasure around the corner. Over the years I've visited with my parents, my husband, our children and now with our daughter-in-law and grandson. So special to see him on the blue seat around the tree. Ascott, you're very much loved......especially now you've opened the tearoom! Back soon...

User

Amazing, well worth the visit

User

Although I worked there for just shy of four years. When I went back to visit I was proud of the work I and the team had done at the start of the winter. Also I'm very surprised to see the progress the gardening team have made whilst iv moved on. You all have done great jobs to get it perfect for opening. Definitely got my back to visit again. Probably for the foxgloves then again for the summer bedding around July/August.

User

Absolutely beautiful. The house was magnificent - i love the paintings , the furnitures and the porcelain. The garden is simply stunning. I reccomend it. Will come back again.

User

A truly gorgeous place. The house is very interesting and has a delightfully homely feel (it is still a home). The gardens almost defy superlatives. It is our absolute favourite in spring time with the most stunning daffodils and a spring meadow that takes your breath away. There is something for everyone in terms of garden design from the very modern to the neo-classical. Highly recommended. (One request, I wish they did latté in the cafe, not fond of the filter coffee. This would make it a 100/100!)

User

A beautiful place, perfect for strolling away a couple of hours. The house is small but full of amazing things and the gardens lush.

User

The house was small but full of beautiful object d'arts. The painting collection was amazing and the staff throughout incredibly knowledgeable. Your was enjoyable but short due to size of property. Missed out the garden due to inclement weather but will return in Spring.

User

Really disappointed with the attitude. Arrived with our 4 year old daughter, and her new bike, for her first ever bike ride and we were immediately informed that we couldn’t leave the car park with a bike, as “they didn’t like it.” The person didn’t even come speak to us properly (when we would have explained we’d be using the bike for a couple of minutes at most). Instead they just shouted from the kiosk. I’ve never experienced such a thing before with the National Trust. Luckily, there are much more friendly non-NT places just round the corner in Leighton Buzzard.
