You will learn how to condition and care for your flowers and how to master the art of wrapping and presenting your flowers in an aqua bag. Love when we have these Protea in. I find them rather exotic and other worldly? They’re not my usual kind of English cottage garden wild and delicate bloom but sometimes it’s cool to be different right? 😉 Elaine’s made up some gorgeous arrangements using them today partnered up with the fern I mentioned in my previous post and they look fab (see my story)
Fern also known as ‘leather leaf’ has long been a florists staple friend and is enjoying a modern revival at the moment. Kind of went out of fashion but the simplicity of a bunch of it in this glass vase is rather elegant don’t you think?! One on its own would look good too 🌿
Fascinating Dahlia - whenever I go to the flower market with my list from Elaine I always like to bring her back a ‘Brucey Bonus’ (sorry if you’re too young to know what this is - google it?!) which today was these beautiful Dahlias!! For some reason I was drawn to their colour, shape and perfection and Elaine as usual hasn’t disappointed and has created a stunner of a bouquet (photo tomorrow 😉). Happy Days 😊

It’s amazing and interesting how dealing with the general public can spike and dull your emotions in the space of one day!! One minute you can despair at a conversation you overhear outside your beautiful shop between people that lack intelligence and any sense of taste, the next you can get a sudden buzz from an email or a message you receive, you can feel happy at the thought of ordering gorgeous flowers for someone’s wedding or irritated at something you read on social media which feels like a direct and rather bitchy hit at you and THEN someone comes in with the saddest story that brings you right back down to raw earth and makes you JUST be happy to be alive and for what you’ve got? Certainly made mine and Elaine’s eyes well up and take a deep breath. Do you get me?? 🙏🏽😇

The beginning of August already? I don’t know about you but this Summer is rolling by far too fast for my liking? This month is historically quiet at the shop apart from a few weddings so funnily enough we use it to plan lots of exciting things for the next 4 busy months including NEW WORKSHOP DATES, MARKETS, WEDDINGS & 🎄!!!
Classic, fresh greens and whites in this bouquet - give your flowers a chance in this hot weather, re-trim the ends and change the water often and don’t put them in direct sunlight behind a pane of glass!! They like to be cool 😎
The only holiday pic I’ll share because it’s me taking my beautiful wicker trolley to Pollensa market for fresh bread and fruit!! What a dream! Good Morning to England’s World Cup Semi Final Day!!! I’m not necessarily a football fan but it’s hard not to get sucked into the atmosphere and excitement that seems to be buzzing around?!!! The flower cart will be full of freshness from 10am this morning so pop in for your flower fix ahead of a very important evening 🏴
What a gorgeous shop. I purchased some foliage for table centrepieces today. A lovely range of items....I will without doubt be back. Thank you also for coming after me with the moss I left in the shop...by accident...oops �
We had a fantastic time yesterday afternoon at the Christmas wreath making workshop. It was so informative and welcoming - and the workshop was wonderful. One of best experiences I’ve had at Christmas time. Thank you Elaine and Marie x
My favourite shop in Mickleover! Absolutely love my giant baubles - everyone comments on them! Next I'd like to treat myself to some fresh flowers.. I'd have one of everything from the shop if I could! Staff are so friendly � Defo recommend paying a visit :)
I found this page on FB after a friend liked it. I live abroad and send flowers for friends birthdays etc. I messaged on the off chance that they might just be able to help me and deliver a bouquet for my friends birthday, after being so disappointed with interflora. (& receiving a partial refund on the last bouquet I bought!!)
To my surprise they were super helpful and my friend was absolutely delighted when her bouquet arrived. The flowers were beautiful and she was very touched when the (apparently lovely!) guy who delivered them wished her a Happy Birthday! Thank you so much! I'll definitely be using you again! Xx
