Thanks again to all our customers new and old for making this season the busiest ever. Which led us to ask, apart from the fantastic weather at present why do you choose to camp with us at Bank House Farm? These are the reasons you gave
Camping allows children the freedom to play outdoors, make new friends and sleep better due to fresh air and exercise. Furthermore, camping off-grid, like in our meadow field allows for families to enjoy wholesome outdoor family fun.
... Campers also liked our dog friendly environment. As for many it was important that the dog/dogs came too to enjoy walking the extensive nearby trails and Manifold way, with freedom to go where ever they fancy.
Nipping off after work on a Friday for a few nights camping just down the road from where they live was another plus point. Being a few miles from home leaving stressful lives and the constant spinning wheel of life was definitely an advantage.
Being off grid with little mobile reception gave the opportunity to take stock and be mindful, listening to the birds, the chattering of little children, the sound of rain or basking in the sunshine.
So, there you have it. It sounds like you camp with us because of the freedom of getting up and going, your love of our countryside. Because you love to see children running free, spending time with your families and pets, and because it's affordable, fun, and simple.
Are there any reasons you'd add?

We stayed in the meadow field across the road in non EHU. Showers & toilets were clean especially considering it was a bank holiday weekend so lots of people. Showers were hot as was washing up facilities which also had music in background. Only downside not enough sinks. Would stay here again & would recommend

User

We just had a 4 night stay at bank house with our 2 kids aged 2 and 4 and their Grandparents, Auntie and cousins! We had an Absolutely wonderful stay, great facilities and a beautiful setting with a great pub at the entrance. The kids loved the ducks and the freedom to run and play on the grass banks and the adults enjoyed a proper chill! Great walks nearby and national trust Ilam park half an hour away and definatley worth a visit! Great friendly team running the site who made us very welcome, we will be back!

User

We are here now, and WOW! Our large electric hook up pitch over looks the river, it's a lovely and peaceful site, the toilets and shower are very clean. Wayne is very knowledgable of the area and very friendly & welcoming. There's a pub opposite which is dog friendly and serves very nice ales and food. A 2 minute walk down the road you can access the Manifold trail. We will be defiantly revisiting

User

This is the best campsite ever would not go anywhere else the owners Wayne & Alexia could not do enough for you anything you want no trouble love these people.

It's got lovely views a good pub great place to walk can't wait to go x

User

Stunning place, midweek for one night so very quiet, if u want some time away from the hustle and bustle of life then this is the place, one pub, cafe down the road, no phone signal, perfect (there's free WiFi in the pub if you get twitchy) definitely go back, thanks Wayne for having us :)

User

Stayed here the past 4 nights, great site toilets and showers clean and tidy

We stayed in the 2nd field out the way which was perfect for us.

Short walk to the pub and a shop.

Friendly/ happy staff think it was the wardens who we mainly dealt with for logs etc.

Will be visiting again in the future thanks.

User

Lovely spotless site with very friendly wardens. Highly recommended

User

Just come back for a two night stay here at Bankhouse Farm! Definitely our favourite campsite to visit. Only a 90 minute drive away from home but you feel so far away! Wayne the owner is just a massive dream! Couldn’t do enough for us, also Audrey & Bob, two of the wardens, who we met for the first were just the nicest. Lovely and pieceful surroundings with the most perfect of sunsets each night. All the facilities are great and always spotless.

We can’t wait to return next month!

See You Soon!

Just back from here for 4 nights! Great site we stayed on the field over the road from the main site was perfect for us. Great toilet/shower facilities also!

Had a long walk down the manifold trail to wetton and walked back!

The shop is good has everything you need and the pub is great for a beer too although the food wasn't the best but all you need for pub grub!

All round fantastic site!

User

Home from a fantastic Easter holiday at this beautiful site, we stayed in the main field with hook up which was just perfect for us and our dog. The site and facilities are all excellently maintained and spotless, toilets always clean along with the showers!! Which makes a change for camping especially on a bank holiday weekend!!! The area near reception (where the toilets are) has a fridge if you need it plus a tumble dryer (old £1 at the moment ) also some chilled music playing while you wash up in HOT water which is a nice touch the owner of the site Wayne is Just a wonderful host and is there on hand if you need anything or information about the surrounding area, if not his two lovely wardens are always around to assist also FREE SHOWERS also if you find the stream to cold . Even though it was camping myself and my wife where made to feel very welcome and special, as soon as work allows we will be straight back!!

User

Great site! A river to paddle in, good facilities, friendly wardens, great walks, a good pub and a beautiful location. Bakewell is close by and a lovely market town to visit! It was our second visit and we’ll be back.

User

Excellent camp site. We booked late but managed to get pitch no. 1. By the entrance / road but no problem at all. Traffic noise minimal as B road and on bend. Right by river. Bonus was we got wi-fi signal from Manifold Inn across road! Didn't feel bad as we did had drunk and meal there! Also very nice! Very clean and well run camp site.

User

A fabulous two night stay in the meadow at Bank House Farm campsite, it has everything you need for a lovely relaxing stay in the Peaks. Clean showers and loos with hot water, good washing up facilities and a fridge/freezer to keep the icepacks cold. Pub is a two minute walk away in one direction and the shop two minutes in the other. There are some lovely walks straight from the site and beautiful Hartington is only a 30 minute walk away! We will definitely be back.

Thank you to all the team for a great stay

User

Great campsite. Staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. Lovely setting and good location for walkers we were camping in a tent and the ground was well maintained and flat, but the caravan facilities looked excellent. Didn't use many of the facilities but I'm sure they are also very good. Would recommend and would stay again! (One man, his wife and a very tired *and now stinky* dog)

User

We visited this weekend and the toilets and showers were way overcrowded. I don't care about camping regs but 2 men's toilets, 2 wash basins and 2 urinals on a site that size is a disgrace. I saw no end of people take their children up to wash them and have to walk away at busy periods. The toilets are at the top of a steep hill which is also an issue if you have anyone with difficulty walking. Definitely not disabled friendly. The toilet block is very small and the floor was soaking wet through as the showers in the toilet block overflowed into the toilet area. I also thought we were going to have a quiet weekend getting away from neighbours who play music constantly but the sound of the birds singing and the brook bubbling was totally washed out by the group from "Wulverampton" who played 80's soft rock at volume till 10pm Saturday night and started again at 8am Sunday morning. Lovely location ruined. Visited a site 5 miles away previously which was far superior. Wont be back here again.

User

Lovely well kept main site. If you're pitching in the Meadow field be aware it's a good 5mins walk across the road to use the facilities which are basic but did the job. Would probably request main site next time. Great location for using the Manifold trail.

Lovely well kept main site. If you're pitching in the Meadow field be aware it's a good 5mins walk across the road to use the facilities which are basic but did the job. Would probably request main site next time. Great location for using the Manifold trail.
