What a fantastic find, an authentic and rustic coffee shop, great games nook and fantastic coffee roasted on site so you can buy a packet to take home. Friendly barista and a good people watching space. Fun and funky. ..I will be having mire Makushi Moments!

Really lovely coffee in gorgeous little old building, tastefully and simply refurbished in minimalist style. Lovely cake - different from usual synthetic nonsense - and a bagel to die for. Nothing not to love! If I still lived in Lincoln I'd be here every weekend with a good book, watching the world go by and drinking coffee (of course!)

One of the best coffee place in lincoln! Kind of hidden ( not actually hidden but cool place). I will 110% back again to try different drinks there!

Lovely working lunch today with my boss. Fab outdoor area upstairs and tasty bagels (avocado and halloumi). Never been in before but will be back. My manager visiting me from Manchester thought it was like a place in Granada ��

Lovely jasmine green tea ( delicate pure taste ) & gorgeous gluten free cake . Fab to sit at the the window bar & watch the world go by

Love this place! The coffee is amazing and the pretzel bread sandwiches like nothing else. The staff really know their stuff and the decor works so well with the old building and exposed stone. Finding a table inside can be tricky at peak times, this is due to Makushi's popularity, but they do have the terrace upstairs.

I was visiting Lincoln from London and a friend suggested meeting at Makushi.

I absolutely loved their breakfast smoothie in a bowl - wish my favourite Dalston cafe offered that for breakfast - and at such a good price. Wonderful addition to Lincoln's uphill

especially with that restored, very ancient and very quirky interior.

I had a fab latte here on a cold November morning, whilst on holiday. This is a proper coffee shop! Beans are ground and everything!! They also serve gorgeous cakes and porridge for breakfast, among other things. The atmosphere and the interior design are effortlessly cool. The guys that served me were very welcoming and had no trouble with me taking my large dog (size of a small pony) in for a cuppa. A dog's bowl of water was already ready and waiting: a sign that they are truly dog friendly. They didn't bat an eyelid when he sprawled out across the floor and did his trip hazard impression! If I lived in Lincoln we'd be regulars. Oh, they are good value too. Thanks guys!

Had my first coffee here today (and it won't be my last!) The house blend brewed via Chemex was a lovely deep, nutty, biscuity coffee that goes down very well indeed. The Café is a great place to enjoy a coffee with nooks for relaxing in whilst reading their selection of coffee-related magazines. Glad to see another top coffee shop open in Lincoln, give em a visit!

Had a lovely lunch today - first time I've ever had pretzel bread, and a lovely coffee to go with it. Friend had cacao and was given a choice of 3 types! Didn't seem busy, which suited us, but worried that a nice place won't get enough business, so go and try it now!

Great little place, really tasty food, will call again for sure!

Grabbed a coffee on my way up the hill today, then on my way down had to get a bag of their beans (which they roast in house!). Very cool place and the lovely man who served me was the cherry on top. I'll be coming back soon! X

Finally, a delicious smoothie bowl has arrived in Lincoln. This is must visit coffee shop, decor and atmosphere was brilliant and the food was so tasty! Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu and cakes!!

Fabulous little micro roaster of gorgeous coffees. They also do scrummy snacks with homemade bagels catering for everyone including vegetarians and gluten free. Definitely recommend.

Awesome coffee, great service and food to die for!

The service was great, very friendly and helpful staff. I had a long black with near perfection extraction (is there ever a perfect coffee?This was pretty close) and the food...oh my gosh! I had the vegan avocado and beetroot on a gluten free flatbread. As someone with lots of dietary needs you get used to subpar food, this was a game changer. The flatbread was packed with lots of flavour; the avocado and beetroot were perfectly seasoned and it had the right amount of heat from the chillies. I will definitely be back!

A fantastic little coffee house with the best coffee flavours. The staff are so helpful and polite, a really relaxing place to stop.

A cafe that can make a really good Soya late is a rare find... but Makushi can. And then they do vegan cakes :-) (oh and its a lovely atmoshperic place too but never mind about that)

Lovely little quirky place. Food was really tasty and reasonably priced. Great customer service with very friendly staff. We sat on the roof terrace. It was a very windy and cold day but luckily they also provide cosy blankets to wrap yourself up in if outside. It’s the kind of place you could sit in for hours either on your own or with friends.
