About Belton Pre-School Playgroup

We are a small village run playgroup in North West Leicestershire. Our aim is to provide a warm and caring environment to stimulate children and encourage them to learn and develop through play.

Belton Pre-School Playgroup Description

At Belton Playgroup we follow the 4 guiding principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework:

1. every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured;

2. children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships;

3. children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and /or carers;

4. children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates

We strongly believe that all children have the right to:
. Choose their activities
. . Influence their environment
. . . Be given the resources, time and adult input to develop their play
. . . . Not join in with activities

Regardless of age, gender, culture and additional needs, we want our children to have ownership of their setting, to learn from their mistakes and know that their opinion is valued.

By giving the children these rights, they are happier in their play so the environment is fun, busy and creative.

Dear parents and carers, Welcome back after the Easter holidays, how nice to have a warm bank holiday. We would like to welcome Harry. This term is a short one, the first half is only 4 weeks so the invoices will be for the full term, but you can split into 2 payments if you would like to.
We are continuing to have a story as a starting point each week as the feedback from children, parents and practitioners was very positive. Alongside the story we still have focused childre...n and will be asking for current interests and photos of the Easter holidays. The plan is for some of the stories to fit in with the season too, the first story is The Teeny-Weeny Tadpole.
Unfortunately, there are two elections in May, and we are unable to have the hall on Thursday 2nd and Thursday 23rd May. Therefore, we are offering sessions on the afternoons of Thursday 9th and 16th May, the funded children can transfer their funding and if any other children would like to attend these sessions, they are welcome to. You will need to pay for these two sessions separately to the invoice. All children will need a packed lunch. Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to book places (I have all funded children on the list for both weeks).
The very exciting news is that from September we will be extending our hours to include breakfast and afterschool clubs. We are very nearly at the position to roll out our marketing campaign and you will be first to know. Please ensure you have booked your required sessions for September. We are very confident that we can continue the high quality, exciting and caring childcare experience over the longer hours.
The Belton pre-school children will be visiting the school weekly now and we will be contacting the other schools to arrange transition. While the Belton children are at school the other children will continue with the usual afternoon activities. The first visit is Monday 29th April.
We have some dates for your diary for the 2nd half of the term and we will be sharing the details in the next newsletter. If you can recommend a place to visit for our Summer trip on June 20th, we would appreciate some ideas.
Dates for your Diary: Closed for elections: Thursday 2nd and 23rd May Extra sessions: Thursday 9th and 16th 12.15 – 3.15pm Half Term: Monday 27th to Friday 31st May Photographer: Monday 3rd June Father’s Day: Sunday 16th June Bags2school: Tuesday 18th June Summer trip: Thursday 20th June Sports Day: Monday 8th July 2pm (Preschool children only) Break up: Friday 12th July Autumn term: Monday 1st September

Wonderful playgroup!

My son has only been going for a short time but was made so welcome and has come on in leaps and bounds!

I love the imaginative ideas the staff have to engage the children & the happy & fun environment there is for my child to learn & play

This is a truly amazing playgroyp that i would recommend to everyone. Both my boys went here and loved it. The ladies are excellent and really engage with the children.

The most wonderful group of staff and the lovely setting have given my son the most encouraging and confident start. He has blossomed since receiving the support and encouragement from all the staff and the preparation for starting to school could not have been any better. I couldn't recommend any more highly to anyone.

My son has only recently started attending belton playschool,after being in a Nursery setting since the age of 1 this was the next step to prepare him for school.

Being the new boy was both daunting for both myself and my son however,we were both made to feel so welcome and supported by the excellent staff....my son now cries if he’s going to Nursery and not playschool.

In the short time my son has attended I have witnessed first hand The children thrive off child led learning and my son is always full of stories about his day when I collect him,I feel with my son attending this playschool it has helped to prepare him for the next chapter in his life.

The staff are second to none and always approachable to help and support,a through handover is given each day and I feel assured my son is in a safe,positive learning environment!!!!

Well done ladies from both me and Brooklyn xx

Having tried a variety of pre school settings for my children belton has been the best for my daughter. It's free flow set up allows children to gain independence by choosing the activities they want to participate in. They are fab at using a variety of resources and also including the children in community activities such as at the school, at the church. The staff are lovely and the children adore them. As a speech and language therapist as well as a mummy and having visited a lot of settings over the years I give belton preschool a big thumbs up.
