We had our wedding here at the end of May and can honestly say I had the best day ever!

The planning process was easy enough and all the staff we met were lovely. We had a slight delay in things but only because a member of staff left and it took a bit of time for things to be caught up on. Zoe and then Michelle were brilliant though and felt in very safe hands with them. We then met Dean our MC who went through every little thing with us which made us feel at ease with how things would go on the day. He was also fab on the day!

I stayed over the night before with my mum so that I could get ready on the day at the hotel, I wanted to keep it as stress free as possible. Had a lovely evening in a spacious room that was away from the main building. The one and only criticism I have is not being able to check in to the bridal suite until 4pm, though I do understand why. However the staff made every effort to get the bridal suite ready as early as possible- which would have been perfect if the couple before had checked out on time! They did manage to get it ready just to give me time to get my dress on in our room so I wasn't trecking across the site in my dress.

Mel made sure the rooms were set up perfectly for us, helping to organise decorations and people we had hired for various things such as cake, decor and chairs. This was especially helpful to myself as I'm not so mobile to was great for me to be able to trust that the room was going to be sorted without me having to get from my room to check it all the time.

As for the wedding itself I have absolutely no complaints what so ever. Everything ran so smoothly. Dean kept us informed the whole time and made sure we had nothing to worry about. He also helped by using the golf cart to take us round for some photo's which was a huge help as otherwise I wouldn't have been able to walk to get them. They turned out beautiful thank you.

The sweet treats were delicious and kept everyone going while photo's were being taken. The ground are so beautiful too so everyone was happy outside. The wedding breakfast was lovely, good food for saying it's mass catering! The room was a bit warm but can't be helped.

There's lots of space for guests to mill and chill between food and the evening. Also luckily we had a dry day so people could be outside too. I can't get enough of just how beautiful it is to be outside there. Hope to come back for an afternoon tea or something soon!

I had to rest for a while but Dean came and found us to make sure we were aware when it was time to cut our cake and have our first dance, he made sure I had more time to rest when I needed it too. The buffet food in the evening was brill! So so much food I was sad so much didn't get eaten. We had the BBQ buffet which gave guests plenty of choice. Didn't have any complaints anyway :)

Everyone we spoke to who came have said how wonderful it was and were impressed with Breadsall as a venue. We were so pleased we chose to have our wedding here, it really was everything we dreamed of. From the rooms to the grounds it's just perfect. Oh yes and the bridal suite really does have the best views! (Plus lots of space, nice big bed, two big TVs, good bathroom. Just no lift up to it with it being such an old building ). Was sad to leave!

Thank you!

Tony the concierge is amazing. We were very spoilt. Our room in the priory was fabulous. The ladies on reception were very welcoming.

Recently staying with my boyfriend for a couple of nights mid week break for our anniversary. We are Marriott members and came across this one by chance. And seeing all the beautiful pictures we decided to book here.

I must say we were not disappointed by anything. Everything was wonderful. The staff are all friendly, everything was clean and tidy, the breakfast was great, the room was big and clean and the views, amazing!

Totally fell in love with the building and grounds!

We were gifted a free bottle of prosecco from the staff on arrival which was a lovely unexpected touch!

Only two negatives, we hate the pillows that the Marriott use, but will just bring our own from home in future, obviously they are not going to be to everyone's taste.

And the restaurant was closed on the second night, but we were made aware of this on check in. And ordered room service so it was ok. The sharing plater and the burger are delicious.

Would love to visit again when its not rainy season.

Oh and I head 1 noise at 7.30am the first nights stay! Other than that total silence!

Expected the pool to be bigger and my clothes got locked in the changing room locker but one of the staff rescued them with the master key.

We went to the local pub. The joiners arms the first night for dinner, if you want somewhere to eat other than the hotel definitely give them a try! It was brilliant, such a quirky place!

Thank you for a great couple of days!

My son had his wedding at breadsall earlier this month, the organisation by the staff from start to finish was brilliant, they were there on hand from start to finish and couldn’t of done enough for us, the wedding breakfast was delicious, the setting in the grounds was perfect. DJ played all our requests and kept us all on the dance floor and afterwards it was lovely to retire to a beautiful room and enjoy the spa the next day, can’t praise them enough and any one wanting to book a wedding should definitely take a look here.

User

My daughter and her Fiance booked a spa day for me recently and I couldn't have been made more welcome. I'd also like to say thank you to Sarah in health and beauty for looking after us and arranging afternoon tea for us with a special twist for my Birthday.

User

Me and my husband got married here in April this year. We’d had it booked for 2.5 years in advance. We saw a few wedding coordinators come and go but the day was absolutely perfect in every way. The staff were incredible, the food was amazing andeverything went seamlessly. Our photos in the grounds are incredible too! Would recommend to anyone!

User

Just had a brilliant visit with the FAC golf society, two great and different courses, lovely Hotel, excellent room and food. The staff were helpful and looked after our large group very well. We plan to come back in the summer when the weather is warmer. Cheers and many thanks.

User

I’ve just had a full body massage from a therapist called Jenna and felt the need to write a review straight away because this was by far the best massage I’ve ever had! I suffer really bad with knots and tension, she checked with me the pressure and what areas she needed to work on. Focusing on my needs she made me feel really relaxed, took time to release the tension in my shoulders and took that extra care in keeping me warm. The experience was lovely, I highly recommend!

User

Fantastic place all staff so friendly and helpful. Food lovely, great leisure facilities and comfy beds.

User

Beautiful place! The staff there were very accommodating and friendly made to feel welcome straight away and although we arrived early they made every effort to get us into a room. Was not what I was expecting, in fact the establishment and staff was more than what I had expected... For our first weekend away together, I don't know how it can be topped. With the weather being beautiful all weekend we stayed on site and enjoyed the views, sun and few drinks. There was at no point throughout our stay that we felt bored. Best relaxed weekend I've had for a long time... Thank you all, especially Marie and Marley (our receptionist and waiter)

User

Beautiful place and certainly wasn't disappointed. Thought no way would it be as nice as the pictures but it really lived up and more to expectations. All staff very accommodating especially Marie the lady on reception who was new made us feel so welcome and was such a lovely lady. Marley in the bar and grill also stood out with his great attitude towards us. This whole weekend was beautiful. We were planning to go out in the days and explore Derby as we're from Bournemouth however we fell in love with the place we didn't leave the grounds for the 3 days. Thankyou to everyone who works there for making our first weekend away together so special ..we will definitely be returning

User

Always loved this place, couldn’t think of a better place to host a charity golf day, the staff are the best, so friendly and welcoming

User

This is a superb hotel in an outstanding location. You really don’t get places like this very often. We got greeted by a lovely lady who was very cheerful to speak too. Our room was quite a distance from Reception, so top tip is leave luggage in car when you check in. You’ll find out why soon enough!

Our room was typical Marriot. Spacious, clean and tidy and functional. The pillows in my view were just lacking any guts and the bed was a tad too hard for me. My wife loved it though. The bars and restaurants are all very well priced and the food was quite good too. There were two wedding whilst we were there but this never affected our visit at all. The Staff are all lovely too. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my clubs or I would have done 18 holes. The course looked very well kept. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thankyou all for looking after our group of 8 so well.

User

The hotel is in beautiful setting and rooms are very clean and warm as it was snowing while we were there, went to go in pool but is only small and was crowded, only down side I have is the price of the room didn’t include breakfast which was extra, however the breakfast was very nice, and the staff were friendly.

User

Beautiful setting and excellent for golfers. Rooms spacious and filled with all you need. Lots of parking. Rooms a bit up and down so not great for those less mobile but this is clearly stated snd the staff will help it send a buggie for you if needed. Fantastic breakfast everything you could wish for from fish to pancakes. Bar stocked well even had EG company rhubarb gin! but on the higher price side. Restaurant good selection and fantastic scallops but add 12.5% (discretionary service)!!! Spa and pool area good size. Restaurant staff noticed it was my dads 80th and brought us a glass of fizz to celebrate which was a lovely touch, thank you x Debbie (breakfast staff) made special effort to engage with my son and explain pet cemetery history and we even had to call on her in the gardens when a morehen chick was alone and drowning. A real credit to a large chain group with family history values. Well done. Would we return= YES pls ASAP

User

A lovely location. The old house and ground are stunning. The priory course very challenging as most of the fairways are are sloping uphill / downhill and side ways. (There must be a better way of describing this but I can't think of it right now )

The moorlands course is very open and a little featureless if I am honest.

We were well looked after. The rooms are a very good size. The food was excellent. All in all an enjoyable experience.

User

Lovely place to visit and very friendly staff, especially the massage therapists on our spa day yesterday, but very disappointed that when we rang up to book afternoon tea for 2 to then be told after eating that it was £16.95 EACH and then restaurant added on a service charge making afternoon tea for 4 people £70!!! Then the pool was shut at 5pm meaning we then had to leave as we could not use the pool again and the jaccuzi was full :-(

User

Arrived here mid afternoon 16th Dec. Went to book for dinner to be told restaurant shut for Xmas party.

When I questioned this I was informed all guests had been notified.

Fast forward to today and the Manager has contacted my husband to say email was sent to notify and sent to an email address not used for 7 years. ( booking confirmation not sent to this one ).

Email forwarded to current email address indeed showing notification of restaurant booking.

However someone must think we are really dim when the email was sent after we checked in!!

Appalling treatment and a real let down to the Marriott brand!

User

I visited Breadsall Priory for a spa day and afternoon tea. This was to celebrate my best friends Hen Party.

The spa was lovely as were the facilities, however when I went for the afternoon tea I was very disappointed.

When I first called to ask about booking and prices I asked if you could cater for a gluten free diet as I have coeliac's disease. I was told you could. When I called to book I asked again, and was told again that you could cater for a gluten free diet and that it would be put on the notes for our visit.

The day before I visited, I was contacted by yourselves and I asked if you had it on your notes that I required a gluten free meal. The person on the phone told me they would put it on the notes for the chef.

On arrival at the restaurant I was asked if there were any intolerances or allergies in our group. I again told the server that I required a gluten free meal. There was also a lactose intolerant person in our group.

The waitress that brought our food over brought one afternoon tea with the lactose and gluten free choices on it. This had finger sandwiches, one tier with the lactose free alternatives on and the top tier with the gluten free alternatives on.

I was told by the server that the top tier was mine and that the scones and everything else were suitable.

I ate sandwiches, the scone from my tier and half a slice of cake.

Two hours later I was incredibly ill. I couldn't even keep any water down and I was stuck in my friend's bathroom for an hour before giving up on celebrating the rest of her hen party and going home. I was in bed for hours being ill.

I had been planning my friends hen do for months, and I was not able to take part in most of it because I was so ill. My friend was very upset that I had to go home and missed her hen party.

I have had gluten poisoning before and I am in no doubt that this was caused by your afternoon tea. I had nothing else to eat all day. Coeliac's disease is a serious condition and the meal I ate yesterday, as well as the immediate illness, will cause damage to my stomach lining that will take months to heal. It can have a knock on effect on my general health as well.

If you do not cater for a gluten free diet, you should have said. I asked four times.

I have private messaged you over 48 hours ago to try and resolve this more discreetly and nobody has replied.
