Sadly we have another missing cat 😟 This time it is one of our members of staff and she is very much missed by all the family.
This little beauty is Belle. She is a British Blue and was wearing a pink floral collar with a gold identity barrel. Belle is microchipped, but the details have not yet been updated.
... She was last seen in the morning on Thursday 18th Oct at The Maltings, Stapenhill.
Possible areas she could be include: Clay Street and surrounding areas Brizlincote Valley Tower Road Eims Road

She normally takes herself off for a little while and return safe and sound, but she has now been missing a few days and is on MEDICATION.

Have you seen our shiny new waiting area signs?
As we are a cat 🐱 and rabbit 🐇 friendly clinic, we have separate waiting areas for them in our practice. This allows any scaredy-cats and worried bunnies to wait in a quiet corner, with hidey holes and covers for their baskets too.
Can we please ask that any pooches 🐕 visiting the practice please sit in the doggy waiting area whenever possible.

Our Nursing A-Z for today is L for Laboratory.
As mentioned in D for Diagnostics, our nurses run a lot of in house tests in our in house laboratory. This could include blood tests, blood smears to look under the microscope, urinalysis and also skin scrapes/hair plucks to look for parasites.
As well as actually doing the tests, nurses also maintain all of the equipment in the lab which covers monthly quality assurance tests and cleaning of all the equipment.

***FIREWORKS TIP***
Cat's like to HIDE when they are frightened, anyone that's had to coax their puss out from under the bed will tell you this! However they also like to be up HIGH as this also gives them a feeling of SAFETY.
This Bonfire Night, give your cat the option of a high place to ESCAPE to - a chair or tall scratching post near a higher piece of furniture will suffice. A DEN can be made by placing a cosy blanket over a crate or box (or an igloo style bed is ideal) ...in a QUIET AREA of the house.
Spraying FELIWAY in these area's and the use of a Feliway DIFFUSER can also help. We stock these at Bright Side and can advise on how to help your cat over the Fireworks Season.

Do you know a Bonkers Bitch?!
If your female dog is particularly bouncy, this may be putting you off having her spayed, as part of the recovery at home includes keeping her calm and quiet whilst the wound heals.
With Keyhole Bitch Spays (known as Laparoscopic), the wounds are very small, only around 5-10mm, meaning a quicker recovery time. Your pooch will still need rest, but the risk of post-op complications such as hernias and wound breakdowns are greatly reduced.

What an amazing bunch of people, I would like to say a massive thankyou with the way they have dealt with barney who yesterday went into West Midlands vet clinic after being referred by brightside for an operation on his shoulder, bright side could of said he's not r problem anymore but asked me to keep them posted on how his op went, which I was so happy to do so, keep up the amazing works girls and Jason love sue and Barnie xxx

We joined Bright Side when we 1st moved to Swadlincote and I'm so glad we did the staff are amazing they are so kind they treat the animals like they are there own and they give good advice they seem to understand that our dogs are our babies and mean the world to us so they do everything they can to ease your mind and make you and your dog's feels safe

We have three Spaniels and have only recently discovered Bright Side. We've tried many different vets over the years but none have got the level of professionalism, customer service or enthusiasm as the staff at Bright Side. One of our dogs recently had an operation, and tonight our litter of puppies had their health checks. Superb service, highly recommended!!

We have never used these vets, however, after meeting them at The Festival Of Leisure I would happily take my pets to them. Fantastic, friendly staff, the staff have represented the business well today!! �

Took our 13 week old puppy Hugo for his first health check yesterday. Everybody we met were absolutely lovely, helpful and informative. Each member of staff greeted Hugo even though they weren’t the ones seeing him. The vet didn’t mind me asking lots of questions. They treated Hugo with love and care and gave him a treat after we’d finished. I feel we’ve made the best choice of vets for our boy. We can’t wait to start the puppy classes! Thank you all �.

Thanks to the Brightside crew, for love and care shown to jazz. Special mention to Kelly, whose very special skills put her back together, and on the road to recovery. Also Lucy, for always knowing what was going on, and dispensing TLC and coffee to worried owners on the doorstep. When she arrived at work.

I took my kitten Aubrey to be spayed 2 weeks ago , after swapping vets due to lack of care and stress... bright side vets have been truly amazing! She hates the vets and I can only say simply she turns into a little devil and will attack anyone in sight. So the staff dealt with this well and treated her wonderfully! She is now all healed and ready to go outside and explore. Thank you so much �

I took my 1 year old cat, Gizmo, in with a swollen paw and the treatment he received was great, from calling to make the appointment to walking out with pain meds and antibiotics was about 2 hours. He was treated so fantastically and 2 days later he’s back to his mischievous self. Thank you so much x

Henry our cat was involved in a rta and seriously hurt. We didn't think he would he would survive he was that badly injured. A fabulous couple found him and contacted the rspca. Whoever you are thank you you saved his life. Thankfully i had chipped Henry and eventually we got him to Bright side. Kelly, Jason, Lucy and all the team are so caring and they go over and above to help the animals brought to them in distress. Henry has had superb treatment and survived all his injuries they never gave up on him. A long haul but well worth it. Thank you so much

Have been with Brightside since they first came to Swad over 3 years ago. Kelly was very compassionate when i had my beloved companion Wessie PTS. I now take my lovely girl Jess. Very happy with every aspect of the practice. They r very thorough.��

Cannot recommend Brightside Vets enough!! We have just moved to them as our old vets shut down. We had to go to them twice in one day this week as our dog wasn't quite herself and then later she had a seizure at home, nothing was too much trouble for them from the lovely lady that greeted us as you walk in, to the fab vet and the kind gentleman (that has the boss printed on the back of his polo shirt). Not just good with pets but also very good people skills which is an added bonus. Thankyou for being so kind and understanding in what was a very frightening time for us.

Bright side vets are incredible, looking after our fur baby over recent years and on his last journey, we could not have asked for more. Thank you!

Bright side staff have been absolutely amazing with the treatment and care for my bully sumo. A massive thank you to Kelly for her understanding care and empathy during this hard time of his passing. I would recommend to all loving pet owners to use bright side 🐕🐅🐆🐈🐩🐇🐁🐀

Bright Side Vets are amazing! I would not go anywhere else. The vets are fantastic, nothing is too much. The nurses and brilliant and the reception ladies are fantastic too. Best thing we ever did was move Lexi (dog) to this vets, they are very friendly and understanding that th dog can be scared. They always make a fuss of the dog and let the dog settle into the room before doing anything
