Wow wow wow! ๐ Had a beauty & the beast afternoon tea. Completely amazing. The savoury foods were delicious & the sweets were out of this world. Staff were really great. Only downside is the food is 'fancy' so not great for young kids unless they're used to a wider variety of ingredients. But overall absolutely amazing.
Went for the Harry Potter afternoon tea yesterday food was fab, staff very friendly, great experience all round
Went for the Harry Potter afternoon tea for my girlfriends birthday yesterday. Was really good. I nice selection of sandwiches and cakes. The cocktails were tasty and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Unfortunately was very full and couldn't eat all the cakes but we were able to take the home to enjoy
We went yesterday for the Harry Potter themed afternoon tea it was excellent, there was a large array of sandwiches ,mini cups of the most delicious pea at mint soup and really scrumptious cakes and I might also add the lightest home made scones I have ever had and that includes my own and believe me mine are good.Thank you Colwick Hall for memorable day.
We had a really lovely afternoon in excellent, relaxing surroundings with great food at reasonable prices and very nice, friendly staff.
It is a pleasure to give a much deserved 5 Star rating.
We will definitely return.
We had a lovely afternoon tea yesterday. My husband is vegan and the effort they went to with the vegan options was astonishing! I'd go as far as to say his dessert was better than mine! Service was lovely and they accommodated our two children very well too. Think we'll be back!
We had a lovely Afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly and helpful thank you very much, we will be doing it again might try the themed one next time.
We came here for our fifth wedding anniversary and we could not recommend it highly enough! Great food, lovely staff and an all round brilliant evening. As someone who is gluten intolerant, the staff took the time to see what the chef could make for me in relation to the menu, which was the icing on the cake. We will be coming again.
Visited for the first time yesterday ,absolutely loved it ,the atmosphere was great ,the staff were most attentive, the food was delightful, will definitely recommend to friends and family .
Just returned from Wizarding afternoon tea with my 10-year son (whoโs a big Harry Potter fan).
The food & drinks were fantastic (we couldnโt manage it all but the ladies kindly supplied a box to bring the surplus home), the staff were very attentive and all the little details were impressive. We loved the owl post decorations and Harry Potter theme playing in the background.
A fab way to start our Christmas holidays. Thank you!
Just returned from Harry Potter afternoon tea and it was awesome! Not a great fan of afternoon tea, but the twist on this was great, the selection of cakes tasted amazing and I could literally eat a vat of the pea soup ๏ฟฝ
Just home from the most beautiful afternoon tea, which was a surprise baby shower for my best friend , there was 22 of us and I cannot thank you and your staff enough for making it so special ! The afternoon tea was the best I've had actually! I look forward to dining with you again soon. Thank you again, Claire & the girls xx
I have eaten at Byron's twice and can totally recommend it. The food is gorgeous and served beautifully. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is always very welcoming. And the prices are very fair too!
Came here for afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely helpful, friendly staff and great food.
Smashing venue with lots of character but very clean and smart. Drinks are very reasonably priced for this type of venue also.
Definitely will be returning.
Went today for a Willy Wonka themed afternoon tea with my Mum. We have afternoon tea often so we know what we like.
I would of liked more choices for the fillings on the sandwiches and I did not like the Rye bread which reminded me of gluten free bread but this is just personal preference.
The thing we did not like is that afternoon tea to us means bone China plates tea cups and cake stands we could see these on some tables but not ours. When I asked they said they were for the Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea. I would of said it was a basic requirement for afternoon tea and would of made a difference to us small thing but as I say we have had lots of afternoon teas and never not had bone China cups etc. The scones were nice as were the brownies. The Hot chocolate shot was a waste of time as by the time you got to it , it was stone cold. I cannot say how the biscuits and cupcakes tasted as I took these home for my children. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the tea was nice. It was nice but nothing special a few little tweaks and I think it could be a really nice afternoon tea. Definitely needs bone China for all afternoon teas.
Nice place friendly attentive staff we enjoyed our visit and afternoon tea. Located near Nottingham Racecourse and Colwick water.
Harry Potter tea, lovely place had a great time with family, food good quality and plenty, cocktails expensive but good, service somewhat poor asked for a coffee refill lady made me wait ( stood about a meter away ) filling in some paperwork after 5 mins fetched the coffee off the percolator.
All in all great location, nice food but poor service.
Went for a belated Motherโs Day gift yesterday beautiful place staff were spot on ๐๐ป We had Grand Afternoon Tea the sandwichโs were quite poor, roasted veg sandwich, soggy cheese n chutney sandwichemini cheesecake was tasteless but everything else was fab! The cakes were amazing ๐
All in all
We went for the first time, for Sunday lunch recently and were all looking forward to it as we had heard some good reviews. The starter and mains were delicious, although none of us enjoyed the desserts. The meal was spoilt for us by the sound levels of the main restaurant. I know the building is old and there are wooden floors, but every time someone pulled their chair away, it was like listening to nails being scrapped down a blackboard! Maybe some kind of sound proofing or cushioning in the flooring would help. This being a minor thing, what really spoilt our experience was a table of very loud, middle aged people, who didn't seem to consider all the other people dining there. They took over the place, and I was literally bored to tears when all the shouted about was their latest holiday in Vegas, yawn. I don't want to hear, thank you very much. Several people gave them looks to quieten down, but they continued to behave badly and carry on showing and laughing at several You Tube videos. I like a laugh and joke at the best of times, but there's a time and a place. They basically were rude and obnoxious, and I felt one of your staff should have intervened. I'm sure we weren't the only ones that had our meal ruined by them. So on this point, we will not return and will go back to enjoying proper fine dining in a calm, relaxed atmosphere.
