The biggest and best car boot for miles really easy to park and nice ground well worth a visit really friendly atmosphere

User

I won the VIP pitch for bank holiday Monday 7th May. I've been to this car boot several times over the last 4 years, and always do well when I have a stall. I had a great morning on the VIP pitch (a space was saved for me just inside the entrance) and the bacon cob, drinks and doughnuts kept me going in the heat! Thank you also for bringing over the food as I was on my own so I wasn't able to get it for myself :). I would recommend this car boot and I will be back again in a few weeks as we are having a huge declutter prior to moving!

User

I shared my daughter in laws first car boot ever on Sunday 8th April and loved it. We intend to go back again as soon as we can. Selling childrenвҖҷs summer shoes at knocked down prices amongst other bargain goodies.

The day was Well attended which was good for us.

Plenty of loos вҖҳalways a good thing. And a very helpful lady who provided free of charge dairy free milk from her own supply for our tea from the burger van. Brilliant.

Got a bit chilly later but didnвҖҷt put anyone off.

Great boot, loads there and would highly recommend to the avid boot goer.

We will be back that a cert.

Hello

Been to carboot to sell again today

Normally every 6 months or so we pop along to sell unwanted stuff

Came two weeks ago and did really well

Today seemed a little quiet

And also didn't help to have some things stolen from the table and bag full of ornaments stolen too and then spoke to other sellers at the carboot and they had items and bags full of tools and watches stolen too

Think needs to be some thing in place that stops buyers come on until every body is set up

I got fed up of keeping buyers and would be thiefs out of my car and trying to take a pushchair from my son

Very disappointed today

Not happy experience

Normally enjoyable

User

Has the thursday carboot started yet or is it just sundays at the moment?

User

Had a great day at the car boot today. Lots of people to buy and an organised set up. Thanks will go again.

User

Done the odd car boot on here and have a walk round most sundays never any issues пҝҪпҝҪ

User

We regularly buy and sell at Calverton and generally enjoy the whole experience. Some tips and thoughts:

1. Go early for buying and selling. Sellers are packing up earlier than they used to. (When selling, we hang around and have made some great sales later on).

2. Be polite and don't intimidate or be intimidated. If you are worried about being rushed, park up, lock the doors and go for a walk. Set up when the rush has gone by.

3. Know what price you will accept and stick to it BUT be realistic. It is a carboot!

4. Be honest. I'm amazed at the number of people that lie, 'its all there', 'its working', 'its brand new', ' it cost ВЈ40000'. Yer right! However, the overriding message is BUYER BEWARE!

5. Enjoy haggling.

6. Don't let the wife spend your takings!

7. Just recently we have had some things (DVD's) stolen. This is a new thing for us and is disappointing, be vigilant.

8. The toilets are disgusting. Sorry organisers, I have to say it! Come on, re-invest some of your gate money in some new facilities. I've been to festivals with cleaner toilets. At the very least, get the doors fixed.

Hope this helps. See you Sunday.

User

We did the car boot this Sunday :) generally things sold well, had a couple of people trying to pocket some of the kids clothes we had available but as long as you keep your eye on them they back off! (Unfortunately you get this everywhere!) The traiders at the start of the day are very rude and intrusive when you are trying to unpack things but these guys are the same everywhere! Stand your ground and tell them to come back later! They dont like it, one even tried to have an argument with me about it saying i would never sell anything with that attitude!! But eventually they back off! I wouldn't hold a pitch on my own, but that's just my opinion! :) staff were friendly and helpful, just a shame I didn't win our pitch ;)

Would deffinatly do it again if I have another clear out! !

User

I like what people say about this boot but there are lots of comments to arrive early but no days were mentioned

User

A proper busy carboot and it was 75p entrance fee but now ВЈ1 which (I believe was easier so not as much change required) especially during bank holiday weekends are packed and plenty of good stuff to buy all depending on what you're after but watch out for some electrical things that don't work when they say they do. I don't mind paying ВЈ1 entrance fee as you can pay ВЈ3 per adult entrance fee and it very handy to have some toilets but seriously it time to let those loo hires go to scrap and get some new ones in as they're filthy, smelly, falling to bits, flush don't work and can't lock the door up very well either. Personally I couldn't sit down in any of them

User

Went first time on Thursday lovely day staff very friendly and booters to.just reading reviews from 3 years ago very disappointed that you still have not done a thing about the state of the toilets.only 1 toilet , didn't flush, didn't lock, floor covered in urine stunk vile .3 years ago people were complaining about the state of the toilets is it worthwhile writing a review.

User

Great Boot sale but come on! I purchased a new car recently and when leaving the boot I was faced with inching out of the exit with sharp edged thick branches to the left and a foot deep pothole to the right!, this has been there for sometime but alas I had forgotten, come on Calverton show some respect for the people who hand over their hard earned cash!

User

Went with my niece on Sunday 1st may and arrived there at 10.15am to already find cars packing up even though weather was nice and sunny. We walked round and by 11.15am half the cars had packed up even though online says starts to wind down between 1pm-2pm. We left about 11.30am and they were still charging people to get in even though was small as loads packed away. They should really make cars stay till a certain point and if they don't can't come back again ( I know other car boots do this). Will be going elsewhere next time

User

I was unimpressed with the site the toilet facilities were disgusting and looked and smelt like they had not been cleaned for weeks. Being a seller on site I was opposite them and saw the reaction of all that used it. They were coming out nauseous and one toilet that was open had a smashed in toilet seat. It was the first car boot that I have been too that I had to have a shower as soon as I got home as I felt dirty. This needs to be sorted out if you are charging sellers and buyers to enter.

User

Did my first car boot here at the end of 2017. Apart from the pitch fees being far too high at @ ВЈ9.50 for a car the toilet facilities are disgusting. They may be OK for a man who just wants a pee but no self respecting woman would go anywhere near these filthy disgusting toilets. This car boot has been operating for a number of years and it is about time they spent some of the thousands of pounds they take on building a proper toilet block. As for me I will stick to my little local car boots where the pitch fee is ВЈ5 and I take a lot more money.

User

Went to the car boot today with my grandchildren.

We sell nice things on our stall but no punters so very little sold.

Six weeks of fun advertised but grandchildren very disappointed as no bouncy castle, ice cream van or face painting.

Not worth the expensive ВЈ7 entrance fee for a Thursday.

We packed up at the end of the morning and went home with a headache from the man constantly shouting about his amazing offer on Jaffa cakes all morning - all the stall holders around us were completely fed up with him. He helped to ruin the morning.

Our second and last visit. Never again.

User

Well that was an awful experience рҹҷ„

That was my first and probably my last visit to calverton car boot рҹҳһ

Two cars full of good quality loft clear out things that we have been putting together for over 12 months.

All well organised

We pulled up and were mobbed by impatient, rude thieving (yes things were stolenрҹҳЎ) people who would not even allow us to set up and get ourselves sorted out !!!!!!! рҹҳЎ

I nearly told everyone to F*** off and not even get our stuff out !

If thatвҖҷs how it is in вҖҳcar boot landвҖҷ then Im taking everything we need to clear out down the tip from now on

I am not that desperate for cash !

I certainly donвҖҷt need things stealing whilst IвҖҷm unloading !!

Others seem to think they donвҖҷt need cash to have things рҹҳЎрҹҳЎрҹҳЎрҹҳЎ

What a total an utter waste of a lovely Sunday рҹҳӨрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һрҹ‘Һр ҹ‘Һ

Ps

The idiot who asked me to plug in a kids CD player that I wanted ВЈ2 for needs locking up !

Where the F*** was I gonna plug it into !

Has the thursday carboot started yet or is it just sundays at the moment?

User

Had a great day at the car boot today. Lots of people to buy and an organised set up. Thanks will go again.

User

Done the odd car boot on here and have a walk round most sundays never any issues ÔŅĹÔŅĹ

4. Be honest. I'm amazed at the number of people that lie, 'its all there', 'its working', 'its brand new', ' it cost £40000'.

User

A proper busy carboot and it was 75p entrance fee but now £1 which (I believe was easier so not as much change required) especially during bank holiday weekends are packed and plenty of good stuff to buy all depending on what you're after but watch out for some electrical things that don't work when they say they do. I don't mind paying £1 entrance fee as you can pay £3 per adult entrance fee and it very handy to have some toilets but seriously it time to let those loo hires go to scrap and get some new ones in as they're filthy, smelly, falling to bits, flush don't work and can't lock the door up very well either.

Apart from the pitch fees being far too high at @ £9.50 for a car the toilet facilities are disgusting. They may be OK for a man who just wants a pee but no self respecting woman would go anywhere near these filthy disgusting toilets. This car boot has been operating for a number of years and it is about time they spent some of the thousands of pounds they take on building a proper toilet block. As for me I will stick to my little local car boots where the pitch fee is £5 and I take a lot more money.

User

Went to the car boot today with my grandchildren.

We sell nice things on our stall but no punters so very little sold.

Six weeks of fun advertised but grandchildren very disappointed as no bouncy castle, ice cream van or face painting.

Not worth the expensive £7 entrance fee for a Thursday.

We packed up at the end of the morning and went home with a headache from the man constantly shouting about his amazing offer on Jaffa cakes all morning - all the stall holders around us were completely fed up with him. He helped to ruin the morning.

Our second and last visit. Never again.

User

Well that was an awful experience ūüôĄ

That was my first and probably my last visit to calverton car boot ūüėě

Two cars full of good quality loft clear out things that we have been putting together for over 12 months.

All well organised

We pulled up and were mobbed by impatient, rude thieving (yes things were stolenūüė°) people who would not even allow us to set up and get ourselves sorted out !!!!!!! ūüė°

I nearly told everyone to F*** off and not even get our stuff out !

If that‚Äôs how it is in ‚Äėcar boot land‚Äô then Im taking everything we need to clear out down the tip from now on

I am not that desperate for cash !

I certainly don’t need things stealing whilst I’m unloading !!

Others seem to think they don‚Äôt need cash to have things ūüė°ūüė°ūüė°ūüė°

What a total an utter waste of a lovely Sunday ūüė§ūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéūüĎéū üĎé

Ps

The idiot who asked me to plug in a kids CD player that I wanted £2 for needs locking up !

Where the F*** was I gonna plug it into !

User

its an excellent car boot -the biggest and best in the area,

im seeing negative comments ,

ah well theres got to be someone hasn't there!!!.

Be polite and ask buyers to wait till youve set up,

they dont say what f--shit yer selling today do they? and they dont expect to be told to f----off-

im not sure what people expect from selling on '' the boot'' if you dont like it dont

sell ,have a walk round then come back and set up

alternatively GO HOME- IM SURE YOULL BE MISSED!!!!!

User

Selling children’s summer shoes at knocked down prices amongst other bargain goodies.

The day was Well attended which was good for us.

Plenty of loos ‚Äėalways a good thing. And a very helpful lady who provided free of charge dairy free milk from her own supply for our tea from the burger van. Brilliant.

Got a bit chilly later but didn’t put anyone off.

Great boot, loads there and would highly recommend to the avid boot goer.

We will be back that a cert.
