The best chips in Nottingham come with the Cartwheel burger! I also enjoyed learning about the process of drying and roasting coffee, including the unique flavours that the dried coffee cherry brings. The staff really know their stuff! A must for all who love their coffee.

Such a nice coffee shop! Had an amazing white hot chocolate- tasted out of this world! No powdered stuff- real white chocolate with hot milk! Sooooo delicious! Great staff too- would definitely recommend it!

Stumbled on this lovely café after a weekend in Nottingham. An absolutly delightful place, friendly and welcoming staff and gorgeous food too.

Relaxed and warm atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do more! Went here with our daughter who enjoyed a cheese omelette from the kids menu! The coffee (picked in Brazil) was the best I'de had and I can certainly recommend the chorizo and sweet potato hash! Will definitely be making regular visits to this unique gem!

My husband and I visited here yesterday for breakfast for first time and it's certainly the best place in Nottingham for breakfast!

Knew Alex anyway so always expect a good chat and giggle. Top man and awesome coffee expert. I ordered an Ethiopian coffee blend and he just went through what it tastes like and how it's done and my taste buds were doing this "bathe us in that one" thing so I had it and stated it's the first time I've ever really drank coffee without milk or sugar. It doesn't need either because the flavour is spot on. Definitely Nottinghams top shop for coffee.

Just returned home from the valentines viridi evening...the food and drink was fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed every course! (even as a strong meat lover!) Superb service and very helpful when choosing wine/coffee etc....will most definitely be returning for another menu in the future! Highly recommended! Thanks for a lovely evening,

Just got a sandwich and coffee takeaway for £4.00! Such a bargain considering its one of the best coffee's I've tasted and the beetroot salmon sandwich is so delicious and healthy! I think this is going to be my favourite spot in Nottingham. Keep up the good work!

I've been meaning to visit for while, as a Nottingham girl living elsewhere it was our first port of call on Saturday. The coffee absolutely is delicious and the brew bar is to die for. Food was delicious and the service was very personal. This is definitely added to my 'when in Nottingham places to visit' list!

I was taken by a friend yesterday, and was so pleased to be introduced to this little gem. The staff were friendly and attentive, the cafe clean and welcoming. We had the best bacon sandwich we've ever tasted, and I will definitely be returning.

I thoroughly enjoy the tea selection at Cartwheel. It's the only place I drink tea without milk because the flavours explode in your mouth, the Summer Darjeeling is my favourite at the moment.

I had been following Cartwheel Cafe for a while on social media. However, this was my first actual visit to the cafe. I didn't really know what to expect from both the coffee and food. I had checked out the menu online several times before visiting. On arriving, the our table was clean and ready to go, the cafe was buzzing with people in a cosy space. The house coffee was great, which was both mild, smooth and a easy drink. I had the beef brisket for lunch, which was very tender & melt in the mouth. My wife had the avocado and eggs on toast. All the food was great with great looking cakes also. The toilet and baby changing space was large and very clean, with up market toiletries. It's a shame it's such a long way for us to go. But well worth it. We look forward to our next trip to the cafe. Keep the good work up, if your visiting Nottingham City centre it's well worth checking out this hidden gem for food, coffee and good old customer service.

Had the BEST banana bread here today as a substitute for missing breakfast and I was so intrigued by the other cakes that were on offer I took home a slice of beetroot carrot cake and toffee and cardamom blondie and both were absolutely delicious as a desserts for me and my husband � not kidding they were THE BEST CAKES!

Had a fair experience at Cartwheels today. Never been in here before so ordered a cappuccino but was surprised to see it arrive in a tiny 8oz cup (which doesn't satisfy my coffee fix unfortunately!). Asked for a latte instead to which the barista told me "I've done it now" 🤔 Overall size and customer service was slightly disappointing to be honest, but the coffee was excellent and tasted really nice, would rate that 10/10. Hopefully that was just a one off, so I would still come back to Cartwheels though and still recommend it to family and friends 👍

Last night I went to their Viridi evening - it was amazing. A five course vegan meal with matching wines for each course finished off with the best coffee that I have ever tried.The service was first class; professional and welcoming and the ambience was very chilled.



Alex's passion for coffee and food shines through in everything from his staff team to the little touches resulting in Carthweel Cafe being the great place that it is.

Really lovely cafe, food is quite expesive but they aren’t stingy with the portions. I had smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs and mushrooms and it was massive!

Lovely coffee, with a great range of beans roasted in-house.
