Cavendish Fields - Cfsa

If you have lost anything at Cavendish Fields, you can check the lost property on a Saturday morning. Speak to David in the tea bar, he has quite a collection of items still not claimed from last season.

We are looking for reliable year 11+ pupils to come & join the car park team at cavendish on a Saturday morning. You will be required to do a minimum of 2 Saturday’s a month. Hours are 7.45-11.30ish. Please enquire by private message.

Welcome back to the silly season at Cavendish. We will be kicking off from 8.45am tomorrow morning with the Junior season. We look forward to seeing all the kids & hope they enjoy their opening matches. Please use the free car park & do not park on the estate, we like to keep on the good side of all of our neighbors! Please note the following FB post from North Derbyshire Youth Football League: Teams who have not got registered players showing, when the fixture is clicked on the NDYFL fixtures, must not play the game, please check your opposition as both teams would be acting contrary to the rules !

Can I remind you all to keep your dogs under control when using Cavendish Fields. One has recently killed one of the geese on an adjacent field & there have also been reports of cats being attacked by dogs. Please respect the fact that we are surrounded by livestock & local farmers will take action if dogs stray onto their land.

If you have a child in reception or years 1 & 2, the Matlock Town Junior’s Soccer School is running at Cavendish through the holidays & into the season. So come along on Saturday morning 10-11am. No need to book, just turn up.

Can we remind you all that the roll out goals are not for public use. They must not be rolled out (even if mistaken left unlocked). One has already been damaged, & costs like this are extremely frustrating for us at CFSA, a volunteer run charity. We would hate to have to limit the use of the facility for the general public.

Hope you are all enjoying the summer, haven’t we been lucky? Typical it appeared once the football season finished 😊 We have started vital maintenance work on the pitches so please avoid all areas that have been fenced off. Pitches will not be available for hire until later in the summer. ☀️

Well what an amazing weekend of junior football that was! Thank you to all that participated, it was so great to see you all having so much fun in the sunshine. I hope you all had your factor 50 on, I unfortunately didn’t 😩 Thanks also to the team of volunteers that helped out over the weekend & leading up to the tournament, it couldn’t happen without you. Goodnight & sweet footballing dreams 😴

The last minute preparations are being made for the Festival of Football & we are all really excited to welcome you for a fun weekend of football.
It will be very busy from 8-10am so please be patient & car share as much as possible. Be aware NO ROAD PARKING will be available.
The BBQ will be up & running, plus the tea bar & sweet stall will have all sorts of goodies for sale. There will also be ice creams from Matlock Meadows & activities to keep all the kids entertained.

Phoenix Sporting Goods have been kind enough to supply Matlock Town Festival of Football with their inflatable goals for the tournament next weekend. Come & see them along with their multi sport rebounder (see the attached link).

Last Saturday of junior’s football this week. Please note that the Butty Box will not be there this week, however the tea bar will be open as usual.

So we are nearing the end of our extended junior season at Cavendish, time to give you an update on what’s happening up here!
- On Thursday 24th May we will be hosting the Bunting Cup for our local primary schools. A fun day out of school for all our budding football fans in the area. Come along & support them & whilst you are here you can grab a drink & snack from the tea bar. - The last weekend for junior football will be 26/27th May. - We then host 3 of the Derbyshire Gir...ls Ladies League finals on Wednesday 30th May. If you are coming to these games please note the tea bar will be open for refreshments! - Then finally the Matlock Town Juniors Festival of Football will be held on 9th & 10th June. Please come along & support our 16th year of the festival for a fun day out. We will have over 100 teams competing over the weekend. There will also be a BBQ, inflatables, Matlock Meadows Ice Cream & a just a bit of football thrown in.
Following the festival we will be busy getting the areas all fit & ready for next season. Thank you all for your continued support & we will continue to give you updates on what exciting plans we have for next season.
