About Centaured Sport
At Centaured Sport you learn the Feel of riding in balance. How, Where, and Why we apply leg aids. What's a good contact how it's achieved, why it's lost.
Centaured Sport Description
Centaured Sport uses a Racewood Dressage simulator to coach novice to advanced riders to reach their full potential. It also enable riders to recover from back pain by using sensors and the feedback screens. Coaching on a simulator enables a rider to focus entirely on their riding. Taking the time to focus on your own position and application of the aid is time well spent because what you learn on the simulator enables you to correct and teach your horse more effectively. Novice rides often have lunge lesson to develop their riding, and this is the most advanced lunge lesson you will ever have. It is a schoolmaster that can give you the feel of advanced dressage movements such as flying changes, half pass, passage. So ask yourself where are you going to find an advanced dressage horse to learn the more advanced movement without ruining it. Dressage horse take years of patient training so their owners and riders aren't going to run the risk of you messing up years of work, but how do you ever get the skills? it's costly to send a horse to a dressage trainer and then the lesson to bring you up to the standard also require a dedicated owner, which is where the simulator come into it's own, you can enjoy learning the skill to take you further than you ever thought possible.
Riding accident are a part of life, but getting over them either physically or mentally can be challenging. Physically a simulator has many advantages, it has none of the unpredictability of a live horse, so injuries have time to heal and strengthen. Mentally the sport psychology can enable you to develop and re-establish your confidence. For the competitor Sports Psychology can clarify goals, focus development, calm nerves etc, it's doesn't have to be a scary subject and it's not only for the hard core professionals, a happy hacker who is confident they can cope in any situation is going to enjoy their riding to the full.

I often find I have a few minutes in between sessions to use Teazle to improve me. Today I used the Franklin ball to help me identify any issues I have riding 20m circles.
Today session is inspired by Company's (my baby pony) struggle with circles. So it is important that I can ride them correctly to help him.
20m circles require a rider to be consistent on the bend.
... The seat needs to swing with the stride and not collapse to either the inside.
The inside hip needs to come slightly forwards so the inside leg can sit on the girth to create the bend.
The inside thigh needs to open to let the knee point in the direction of the circle. To me it feels like I take knee slightly away from the knee roll. Today this is what I struggled with on the right rein and I had to focus on releasing the knee outwards.
As the inside hip comes forward the outside leg naturally comes slightly back which positions your leg in the correct place should the horses hindend swing out.
The upper body should rotate so the belly button points towards the inside of the circle. To focus this I held my hands on my belly button. NB to the right I turn my head far too far to the inside, which give me the impression I have inward bend, but it's a false impression.
The video is me doing 20 strides to the left, change of rein 3 strides to the right rein for 20 strides.
Would you know how many strides it take you to ride a 20 meter circle because that's how many strides you have to control your bend.
Please excuse the shorts, I'm not riding real ponies today so I'm taking the chance to get the sun on my legs, sorry.

My beautiful boy 'Company' is now 4yrs and ready to start a bit of grown up work.
Here's the first page in his performance journal.
This is an exercise he did on the lunge for me to get an overview of his supple and stiff rein. It was just done in walk as he's not fit, and it needs to be simple so he could understand the task so he could improve if he could.
... At the bottom I've written a schooling plan to help remind me how to help him.

Happy 83rd Birthday Dad xxx Love you loads x
This afternoon I popped down to the Lusitano Breed show at Arena UK and had the privilege of watching Sylvia Loch giving private lessons, between lessons she kindly spared time to chat. She such a lovely lady.
For the first time ever the stable walls were wet when I opened up today. So mother nature if you're interested enough is enough
Foam matting has arrived, which colour do you like ?
π for pink π for blue
... vote now as I'd like to get it down.
If anyone would like a few mats, they'd be great for doing pilates on down the yard. (not suitable as stable flooring)

***Caroline's journey so far.***
Caroline original came for a balance assessment in 2015 prior to get back into riding after a break. At this point she was looking for a new horse to do Trec on.
The issues we deal with are mainly stiff hips that aren't predisposed to moving fluidly with the horses stride.
