Charles Bradlaugh Description

A large historic shoe factory converted to a Northampton Pub with delicious home-cooked food, car parking, an outdoor terrace, a late drinking licence and a reputation for memorable hospitality that is enjoyed by an eclectic mix of revellers.

THE historical character, Charles Bradlaugh was an atheist, pro feminist social reformer who represented Northampton as it's Liberal MP. As a teetotaller, he may have been very bemused to know that over a hundred years later, a vibrant pub in northampton was opened in his name.

‘Gentlemen Burger’ to die for.... absolutely delicious burger and tasty trimmings, smoky back bacon, tangy Stilton and onion jam... the fries were crisp, light and sooo moorish. Highly enjoyable meal in great surroundings. The Brad rocks.

User

The staff are polite friendly helpful.we had meals all 5 of us were extremely happy with the quality taste and presentation xx

User

Stopped here for lunch after swimming with husband and our little boy on a Sunday. Fantastic food! Service was friendly and prompt. Deserves to be a lot busier. I had an amazing burger and chips, my husband had a pastrami sandwich which looked good and we orders Mac and cheese for the little one.

User

Nicely decorated, good food, and friendly bar star.. air con was just a tad chilly where we were sitting, but it was such a sweltering day I would rather that than be too hot

User

My other half and I went for dinner and then the first night of the comedy crate. Service was prompt , friendly staff and great food.

Loved every moment of Friday

User

Love The Brad.

The San Miguel tastes superb, the burgers are excellent value for money and the Brad is always welcoming and lively.

The staff are friendly and accommodating and the service is quick. Has a Car-Park too!

Well worth a regular visit.

User

Calm and relaxing. A bit expensive for a pint of cider

User

Took the grandchild for a glass of lemonade after swimming friendly staff. Xx

User

The food is very nice and the staff are excellent; they actually speak and interact with you. (Not many places have good staff these days!) The Sav Blanc wine is a bit rough and only one choice of that grape but I can live with that. I would recommend it, nice place, nice food, good staff. Go on a Monday night for the quiz- it's great fun!

User

I visited this establishment a few days ago and was very impressed with everything, the decor, friendly staff and great food. However I'm not the only one to share the same frustration. From the outside the place never looks open, even when it is. I have travelled past many a time and wondered if it's an empty building. The sign TCB is great high up, but were not giraffes'. A large classy sign above the doorway (nicely lit at night) would be a good idea and maybe some cleverly placed soft lighting in the ground floor windows may help also. Or maybe some planters either side of the entrance might help too.

User

Very disappointed there is a limited menu tonight. We come every week and not told till organised the table order. Should have put something on the menu's. So back to the table and all had to change orders. Not a good first impression to the couple we bought for the first time, who both decided not to come again :-( sad times

User

Great pub - but not family friendly in the evenings. Turned up at 6pm with hungry kids (who were sat outside in a quiet beer garden all evening) - told food had stopped at 5pm, then gently reminded at 6:50pm of their policy that no children are allowed on the premises beyond 7pm - even on a lovely summer's evening. Would recommend for adults but not families.

User

Went there for dinner, we brought 3 main meals, one came out fine, the other burnt and the third never showed up. The staff were very apologetic, refunded the money for the burnt food and the one that never showed, but it was not the nice experience we had imagined.

User

Great day at Comedy Crate (3pm -late eve), nice air con on a scorching day. Served quickly at bar. Staff friendly. However, disappointed as not very prepared re food. Ran out of burgers & chicken at 5pm in break! When food came it was luke warm and not good. 😖
