There must be something in the air lately... a second donkey foal (a boy, so also known as a jack foal) has arrived in the farmyard 😍 Mum, Lottie, is looking very proud.
UPDATE: thank-you so much to everyone who voted to help us name this donkey, we are thrilled to introduce Bramble 🙌🏼

Tonight we are celebrating the 70th birthday of the NHS by lighting the house up in blue ✨
Also, to show our thanks to the incredible people who make the NHS what it is, we are offering half price house and garden tickets to current NHS staff on Thursdays and Fridays throughout July - follow the link below for further details 💙

Exciting news: our lovely donkey, Willow, has had a foal! Mum and baby (as yet unnamed) are doing well in the farmyard. Here are lots of photos - can you tell we’re a bit mad about her?! 😍😍😍

The weather today seemed to be unable to make up its mind... but we quite like the combination of grey skies and sunshine, what do you think? 🌤🌿🌸

User

At noon today we will be observing a minute of silence to mark the anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. A siren will be used throughout the house and grounds to start and end the minute. Please do not be alarmed.

Went to the Christmas Market today, yes there was mud and lots of it. But it’s winter and it’s been wet so we expected it. We had a lovely time around the stalls one of the best Christmas Markets around.

As a novice driver I was slightly concerned about getting stuck and not being able to get out of the mud when we left but after helping me get my wellingtons off as they were stuck two very kind gentlemen gave me a push and I was straight out no problems whatsoever. It was lovely day and I can’t fault the staff who were all very helpful and friendly.

User

Went for a walk this morning and took in the beautiful grounds of Chatsworth House. The dedicated staff were getting ready for a wedding to take place today despite the snowy weather and gusty winds. They insisted they gave us a complimentary coffee so that we could continue our walk. Thank you !

User

Well worth the wait to get in the car park. A must see especially for the Xmas events. The market was one of the best I've been too. Next time we go- hopefully this year we will stay overnight somewhere.

User

We visited for the first time over the Easter holidays and we fell in love! The adventure playground is amazing and the kids loved the farm. The garden was so beautiful! We walked around for ages and kept discovering new bits. It’s very well kept and stunning. We had the best day ever and will definitely be back! A massive mention to the amazing volunteers in the stick yard. The kids loved making the flowers and bee masks and doing the bee hunt. Everyone was so nice and so lovely. Thanks again

User

We first went to Chatsworth because of the movie “Pride and Prejudice”. We wanted to see Mr. Darcy’s house. But from that first visit, we fell in love with the Estate! We spent a weekend there for our 30th wedding anniversary, and have visited over and over. It IS my favorite place in the world! Thank you for opening it to us, and preserving the Manor House. I love it!

User

Visited on Friday 1st June and loved it! The house is a stunning piece of architecture and filled like an art gallery with stunning paintings, sculptures and wall/ceiling paintings. The grounds are beautiful and the farm and kids play area outstanding. Will visit again.

User

This might not be the place, but just wanted to acknowledge and say a big thank-you to lizzie and lisa from the first aid team at Chatworth House. I fell during my visit and busted my knee up and these two were so kind and brilliant, they truly went above and beyond what I expected when I went to seek help. In fact the whole staff were lovely and so considerate they made sure me and my baby were okay right up to the point we were picked up. Cannot thank the staff enough. Plus the place is beautiful - can't wait to visit again when my knee is better!

User

Really nice place to visit! I love spend the whole day going for a walk in the gardens. The house is very stunning and full of historical atmosphere. Hope to visit again and again!!!

User

Now let me tell you all, this was the most well spent day out my husband and I have had in years. This family are the most special custodians of this beautiful property and I know that my great grandchildren will still be able to enjoy it in their day too. Staff are confident, helpful and plentiful. Facilities are second to none and value for money unsurpassed anywhere. My recommendation: take your time, allow a day, use the recorded tour (£3.00) it’s a snip. I’ll be back!!

My wife and I visit Chatsworth every year for the Christmas theme and the market. I actually proposed to her in the gardens 7 years ago yesterday.

We found the organisation to be very efficient as it usually is. The house was beautiful and a credit to all those involved in creating it. The grounds are spectacular as always and very well managed.

The market, although busy, was very festive and had a lovely atmosphere.

I get a little annoyed reading some of the other reviews here complaining about the mud, hundreds of cars moving over wet grass is going to get muddy. The walkways that were installed worked perfectly and were not slippery. We had to park some distance from the house but we expected to because it was busy.

The market was busy, because it is successful.

It's as if some of these people were expecting to park their cars on the tarmac in front of the house entrance for free, walk into a market with only the stall holders present and for everything to be £1.50.

I would like to say well done to all the staff at Chatsworth for all your hard work in the house, the market and the gardens. See you next year.

User

Love Chatsworth and the staff are always amazing. Recently went for my Dads birthday for afternoon tea and the staff in the Cavandish Restaurant were brillant. Highly recommend.

User

I‘ve been there for the 2nd time now. This time was even better than last time (25 years ago). What the craftsmen have done in the renovation is impressive!

The gardens are unforgettable!!!

I hope, I‘ll come back once again.

User

I went on one of the long walks yesterday with guides Emma and Lorna,, despite the rain at the beginning it soon cleared up and turned into a pleasant day. Met some lovely people, found out lots of facts about Chatsworth I never really knew despite visiting quite a few times before. I would recommend a guided walk to anyone.

User

I finally ticked Chatsworth House off my “to do” list this week and was not disappointed! The house is stunning, the grounds are absolutely beautiful with daffodils everywhere, an adventure playground where I kept stumbling upon hidden treasures. Loved it, food for my soul.

User

Having Chatsworth Friends Memberships, we visit regularly. We always have a fantastic day out and are pleased with the service by the staff/volunteers.

Today was no exception when we visited to see the Charles Dickens themed Christmas decorations.

The whole house looked amazing!

Without a doubt, a lot of hard work must have gone into the planning and creation of all the displays. Everything was stunning and beautiful!

Thank you Chatsworth! Another brilliant family day out!

User

Absolutely wonderful place. From Australia and will find a day to come to the house and gardens.

The delightful stair case is stunning as an entry into a multitude of rooms, Artwork, History, and then the variety of gardens.

2md time I have visited and wont be my last.

Thank you for opening up your home and sharing your family history and visions of the future.

User

We visited earlier today. The house and grounds were fantastic, especially in the sunshine. However we visited the restaurant area and found it completely disorganised and staff on the tills unfriendly with hardly any staff to be seen beyond the tills section. I had the quiche and salad and the quiche was tasteless and soggy, the salad tasted awful, almost like it has been tainted or washed in dirty water. I should have complained but as I had a young baby with me who needed feeding I just ate what I could and left the area to feed him. So I would suggest a picnic and that’s what I’ll be doing in the future!

User

I love Chatsworth and have been a friend for a number of years now. We took my daughter and her family to the gardens (my favourite place) on Sunday and they had such a good time that they decided to become friends too

Imagine how disappointed I was when they would not add 2 children to a family membership as 1 additional child is the limit ( they have 5 children)

Therefore she had to go for 2 family memberships of 1 adult and 3 children each. This means she has 6 children covered when she only has 5 . Not only is this an extra £30 than if they had added 2 children but if feels like having more than 4 children is unacceptable

I am very disappointed that they feel the need to behave this way

User

Totally unprofessional - security over the top, rude, unprofessional and bigoted akin to medieval England and the gentry dealing with the peasants. “Get off our land you scum” Wouldn’t allow us to take pictures even when we told them it was for a charity calendar. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with how myself and the people I was with were treated today. We were actually harassed.
