The East Leake Computer Club is due to meet next Tuesday night (21st March). The meeting will now be postponed a week until the following Tuesday. Apologises to those planning on attending. A few unexpected gremlins about! See you on the 28th where the plan is to finish off a bit of Python and play with more operating systems.

EAST LEAKE COMPUTER CLUB This coming Tuesday (27th September) we will be holding an East Leake Computer Club meeting..... The plan (always good to have one...) is to have a peep at Conky (system monitor). We will go through installing configuring and (if we don't run out of time) we may have a look at some of the rather nice looking themes on DeviantArt. We have also been approached about doing Raspberry Pi stuff in the future by a very nice lady who wants to start a Code Club in East Leake. Any thoughts? Please bring them along or message the Cafe. Usual time and place. At the Chefs Cafe from 6pm to 7pm(well sort of, we have never finished on time yet but it might happen one day)

Tuesday 5th July - East Leake Computer Club will be having a play with SliTaz. A full operating system which when installed uses 100Mb. (very slick, very efficient, very nice to use and has everything that most people are likely to use) The "100Mb" isn't a typo. We will look at installing and applying to join as a voting member. At the Cafe 6-7pm ish. Anyone can come along. As always, tea coffee and burble.

Now a Merit Award from Rushcliffe is nice...... But the "Better ..." award from Breakfast judges Amelia & Imogen must take pride of place. Thanks very!!! They are in the window on full display. Again thank you very

User

a Merit Award given to the Cafe (thank you very much). Very few of these (must have been about 30 of us there on the day) have been given by Rushcliffe Borough even though there are 673 registered foodies on the books. So when we say things are done properly... we mean it!

User

Why not pop in and treat yourself to either a blue raspberry slush or a strawberry slush. For those who can't decide why not have a mixture of both flavours. !! Delicious.

User

New toy at the café.. a Slush drink machine

User

We are delighted to be able to announce that the Chefs Cafe has been awarded the hot award by Rushcliffe Borough Council. Healthy option takeaway. This is due not only to healthier options that we offer, but also the way the food is prepared and cooked. It just goes to show that you can have that full english breakfast, but in a healthy way.

User

Many congratulations to the lovely Sophie who is one of the team at the cafe who has recently got engaged to Joel. A big well done also for being offered a place at Bristol university starting in September next year.

User

This Friday we sadly lose Lauren as she moves on to new pastures. We would like to say thank you very much for 2 years hard work and wish her a prosperous future..... and good luck with the Driving. Hopefully driving on the next Cafe shopping expedition in October!

For hire is a 3 tier stand for £35.00 which includes a £10.00 refundable deposit on the return of the stand. For more information or to check available dates please ring the cafe or pop in. Although the cakes are not included, cakes can be made to order.

Tuesday 14th April 6-7pm East Leake Computer Club meeting at the Chefs Cafe On this night we shall do something totally against the grain for all men. We shall read the manual........... oooh errrr........shreik..... So in the absence of strong preferences we will dual boot a couple of laptops with a "Distro" of personal choice. We shall also take a peep at Lunar Linux. Unfortunately for most of us, Lunar means looking at the manual in order to get it up and working. Hopefull...y not too many of the gents in attendance will need counseling afterwards..... Otherwise its something we have never done before at the Computer Club. And for anyone out there that does not know about the EL Computer Club... it is run by volunteers who like to tinker with computers, anyone can drop in. There is no membership fee etc just quite a bit of banter. We meet every other Tuesday night. We drink Tea and Coffee while playing with computers.
